Coming to ECS was my dream since 2005... I didn't expect this will be that amazing meeting.

My point of view:
Day 1st - Friday:
"When do we meet?" "6:50" "OK" .
Feelings: OK, They were serious... Work to do, so I'll be there...
11pm -> light turns off, emotions...
Day2nd: - Saturday:
I am there, lights off, nobody in the area, everything closed... First idea -> it was a joke...
Someone is coming: Oleg -> "Is it the a right place? - Nobody is here" " They are there"
Reparking my car... Meeting Patrice... Feelings: It is real... Night, darkness...
...
A cabin filled with all the equipment, everybody, the crew, not speaking much if at all... Climbing, darkness.
End of a route, still dark. Everybody takes something, noone talking. Tents are there, but nothing else. Almost with no words, we prepare the stand. I don't know - 15 persons, 20? I don't know most of them... Darkness, first lights on the highest parts of the mounains. Tables prepared, stand prepared, everything seems to be done... Patrice - is content and then we go for the breakfast. Still nobody is there. Groomed slopes, no skiers, no snowboarders, just the team. Sun is climbing in... What a feeling!
End of breakfast. Slowly moving to the stand and then the first cabin comes in... People - so many, more and more... WOW, what a weather...
coming down, so tired, so good mood, great day!
evening: atmosphere, before the meeting it seemed to become a usual commercial as always in these situations, but hey - passion is still there, it's not feeling commercial at all! I do feel like it was my old family I didn't ever know! Almost anyone could be my brother, sharing the same passion - snowboarding.
Pictures on the wall, smiles everywhere, where the hell did the photographer find the time to make this! (Congrats Jean-Manuel) so good mood...
Day3rd:
Groomed slopes,
carved slopes,
more EC snowboarders than skiers,
same outstanding weather,
so beautiful,
so much time with the best ever snowboarders ever seen - wow again!
Day4th:
- no power.
- no phone.
first thoughts: "a third world war?"
Guys climbing there on their feet, to bring me my boards. Amazing is this real? WOW. Again.
...
They are coming:
So tired, so satisfied...

I will come next year. I'm sure about this.

THANK YOU ALL!!! It was truly OUTSTANDING to be there.

Double Edged Swoard

Post by rcrobar » Tuesday 5 February 2013, 20:11

Hello

Each year I look forward to reading this thread and seeing both the movies and still pictures. It was particularly nice to see the 3 founders together as it is my understanding that busy lives has made these meetings less frequent. At the same time the 10 year anniversary is a Double Edged Swoard of emotions for me, as it is another year that I haven't made it to the EC Mecca. Thank you to all who took the time to record this event for everyone to see.

Cheers
Rob

Hello... To all who were there once again!
It was, als usual, perfect!
First I thought 900 km, pff what an end for just 3 days.
But entering the village, seeing that amazing skyline with its mountains, beautiful snow and tremendously blue sky....
I knew again why I did it for.
And than last but not least.. The people... All those who have that same feeling... Wanting just that one THING...
The ultimate flat carving turn... Hmmmm.... Allmost beter than .??.....

Well I Will see you all back again on the 25th of January 2014... Because I want to experience again and again and again until even I turn that flat turn!

Thanks to all who made this event happen.

Guys... Is it so weird that we do promote Swoard boards on our main SWOARD meeting?

If you miss your photos, you should have ridden Swoard DEMO boards... 100% that in this case you would have your nice pictures published!

Please don't be surprised that a Swoard photographer shoots just Swoard riders...

There are other meetings in europe, where the photographers shoot pictures of all participants. But those are not SWOARD's events !!!

I shot more but if you want an appropriate answer to what you're suggesting, just ask the organizer who invited me.
After all, this is a Swoard event. Nothing abnormal here.

Ok, but why for the group photo there is no selection?
Take the group photo, remove all the people riding on non-swoard board, remove a few soft boarders and other non-riding persons and then count.
The same for the Saturday dinner.

I tought a couple of rider pictures were included in the "activities" mentioned in the package I bought.
I think this kind of events should be more like a friendly meeting of people rather than a pure commercial pushing of a brand (wich is also needed).
You will only lose people by doing so.

Ok again, we will remember this the next season.

cheers.

What about passion to an extreme carving?
I think It should unite people not dividing them by brands.
