I would prefer new boots, but if there are some good used ones... why not.joemzl wrote:Do you want to buy new or used boots?

So you have the choice between DeeLuxe and - DeeLuxe.
With the ACSS most people here ride either Head Stratos Pro or some stiffer Raichle/DeeLuxe´.
The Heads are no longer produced, but maybe you find some used ones in good condition (see Classified/Annonces),
or a last pair in an online shop.
A new DeeLuxe means Track 700 or Track 325.
There isn´t a "best choice", because all depends on how comfortable you feel in them.
Ideally you have the possibility to try them on. (In Sölden there are excellent shops)
Used ones is like "try and error".

What do you think about the Track 225? Is it too soft together with the ACSS?

Track 225 is too soft - not recommended for extremecarving.
Edit 12.9. : too soft for a 70 kg-person - and so of course not recommended in this case.

Track 225, too soft?, depends on your weight. Nice light to middle weight girl boot.

In my opinion we should aim at very stiff boots, with very soft springs, which would mean that the 225 would be probably a bit too soft. But if your weight is about 60kg's even these boots would be enough. Depends on your physical attributes
We have done the ACSS very soft in comparison to other systems but finally some stiffness is still needed. I mean:
1. to learn EC, the softer, the better.
2. To get best from the EC, and snowboard sensation, medium spring system would be nice.
This is my opinion and this differs from the others, there are many who like no springs at all, many who can easily EC with blocked boots, and a lot of ACSS followers.
All depends on your skills.
Generally, the stiffer boot, the more straight your board reaction is. The softer boot, the more comfortable you are, but you loose the top speed control.
This is a reason why racers use really stiff setups. As we don't go that fast in EC, we need no that hard shells nor that hard springs.

I agree!
Abrax ACSS with standard spring works really great for DeeLuxe AF700....never too soft.

Thank you for all the information! So I think I will try an Deeluxe Track 325 T

Yes, you can carve without springs...but it's very dangerous because you might damage your ankles if your boots bend too much. Spring systems allow to put a stopping point to bending.
And yes softer boots could be ok, but the problem is that soft plastic tends to lose its shape when bending. For example ATB are really bad in my experience because they completely lose their shape if you are a little heavier. That is why we prefer Deluxe 700 or RC10.
Ciao!

Re: ACSS - Advanced Carving Spring System for Deeluxe
Hi
I finally took the plunge and got the hammer and drill out...
I have a question...which hole on the u plate am I supposed to I use as a guide for drilling into the boot to fit that special screw? I couldn't work out why there were two holes and one special screw set ...
Any further help appreciated

The upper hole is there just for machining.
The upper side holes make it with the original boot's upper steel rod, lower hole should be used with a special screw.
Hope this is clear enough...

Hi guys,
The next season has just started, I just wanted to inform you that I do finally have new springs and the stock is already made. Prices did not change, colors are still possible. Exactly as it was in the previous year.
Regards,
Rafal

Re: ACSS - Advanced Carving Spring System for Deeluxe
At long last I put the springs onto my Deeluxe boots...I must admit I went overkill with the drill and kind of scratched the U plate fortunately it doesn't affect the working in any way
I tried on the boots and I can get more forward flex but not enough, so I will need to cut inner shell. However, I will try boots first before cutting into the plastic.
