Since I am very happy with my Strolz Skiboots,
I am wondering how Strolz Hardboots are working
out in Snowboard-Carving.
Does anybody have experiences with them?
Is spring-modding possible on them?
Mammut.

Hey Mammut ;))
Don't worry, I will be very kind *LOL*
I would not try to change ski-hardboots for snowboarding, because their main problem is not their forward flex. Most of us were riding ski-boots for several years, everybody will be able to tell you, that snowboard-Hardboots ar by far better for carving. IMHO main problems with ski-boots are poor lateral flex and not enough forward lean (and forward lean travel!). If you never tried snowboard-hardboots, you should do a test ride and then decide, what to do (This is: and then buy a pair of suitable snowboard-boots).
Have a nice sunny day!!

,
I`m riding hardboots since 1988 ;right now
a 325 Raichle with an almost destroyed soft thermoflex inner
boot. I saw the strolz snowboarding hardboot in the strolz
shop in lech/austria.
I am looking for a new boot that would fit 29.5 lenghtways
but has 12cm of width in the front .I have had pain in
my feet for many years due to my irregular dimensions.
As you are familiar with the variety of boots & the art of
modding ,do you know any boot that fits a wide foot.
Who might provide softer springs for my raichle 325.
Who in europe sells good innerboots for the 325.
A nice and hot summer,
Dan

Jey Dan...
Hi Dan,
never heard about Strolz Snowboard-HBs, I only know some Skiers, who are very very pleased with their Strolz's. You seem to be one of them
). Is there any information about these boots available on the internet? Or can you give us further information about them??? How is the forward lean adjustment solved at this model at the moment? I guess, most boots with such an adjustment theoretically can be improved with a spring mechanism, maybe some handcraftship is needed
As far as I know, the Raichles are the widest boots of the serious carving-boots available on the market (incuding the ebay-market). There was a Thread about widening HBs some days ago, you know, maybe Hans' tips may help you. Did you already try to cut peaces off the inner boots foam? Some guys I know say, it helped them a lot!!
I only heard about thermo-fit and molded liners, because I never needed any of them as my beloved northwaves fit soooo good
. But is you decide to get some thermo-liners (e.g. on blue tomato), there is a very good instruction on daves HP! http://www.yyzcanuck.com/
And Gutekunst is a german dealer of springs with good online-shop. There you should get nearly any Spring you want. Just measure out the spring of you raichles (pring diameter, wire diameter,... you can estimate the spring ratio with a scale quite good).
As always: I hope, I could help you a little bit

Best regards
Tom

Strolz snowboardboots again.
Today, I was at www.austriasport.nl to bring my Northwaves .900 to lenghten them (was of no use to me I was told by the bootfitter, my feet are too big for mondo 25,5). I was asking them about their Strolz snowboarding boots. In fact the guy I spoke to told me that he used them for alpineboarding. They are less stiff than their normal skiboots which they use for example for skiracing. The ski-/snowboardingboot can be modified by Strolz and yourself with some parts:
- the lower part of the boot stays the same.
- the upper part of the boot can be changed into three stiffnesses.
- in the back of the boot there is a rubber suspension which is also
available in three stiffnesses, it influences the forwardlean.
- the innerliner will be custommade. You can have a plastic cuff in the
front or a softer leather cuff.
- the innnerliner is all leather and will be foamed when your feet are into
the boot.
The boot can be in standard as in intec.
And the price????? Well, the boot is a piece of art I think,(I didn't see it live, but saw some A4 photopictures of the boot) also the price is: euro 600,--. And listening to the guy, I think this boot will work. So the Northwaves are.
