swoard technicals for manufacturing

Post by Marc Andre Panet-Raymond » Tuesday 28 September 2004, 23:37

Hi guys,
I've been reading the forum for a while now and just now decided to join in fun. I was, like others, really sorry to hear that swoard production had stopped. My question is would you be willing to transmit, for a fee, the manufacturing details, except for any proprietary information that you weant to keep secret, to another manufacturer so that I could have a custom board made? Or could you suggest another appraoch to accomplish the same end result? Thanks, Marc
custom Donek FC 175, O-Sin 4807 178,Burton FP 178, Catek Olympic SI,TD2 SI,catek pro, Deeluxe Indy

The details ;) hehe...
Be patient, as we mentioned previously, we have found a factory, but can't say much until we test ride the protos ( within a few weeks from now...) Then we will announce delays, availabilities etc.. We still have tech problems to solve, and financial questions such as VAT issues between EEC countries and non EEC etc....(if any finance / law specialist is around ... .)

Be patient! Having a board made with the same specs will of course give you an approach of what you can do with the Swoard!

I know you said Sean would probably be the maker if you made them in norh america, but just how much of a possiblity that the Swoard would be made in NA? Couldn't you license Sean or someone like Sean to make them for you?

Woud be absolutly awesome if they were made NA side! (i.e. poor USD to Euro conversion, shipping cost, cheap CNCing on this side of the Atlantic)

Thanks Nils.

too early for that :)

Its really too early for that, since we first need to concentrate on making them again here... Also another thing that makes it complicate is the time it takes to produce / tune the atc matrix... took us a full year to produce that alone, knowing exactly what we needed... You can imagine the time it will take to have someone having to reproducing it from scratch, even knowing the specs etc... But its really something that could be interesting in the future if we can come out with a replicability of the process...
We know the euro is bad for us in terms of exportations to NA, but since we are very small and have to take problems one at a time, we cannot organise a licensing before some time..
Focusing now on quality and non-compromized performances rather than quantity of sales :)
Be patient :)

Oh yeah, absolutly. Focus on simply getting back in production period first! :)
