do not tell me they had the guts to call it the same name!!

Post by nils » Saturday 20 March 2004, 12:01

I cannot believe they even call it the same name we did...Damn
And the board is exactly the same length...Nice engineering..Must have thought a lot hmm..?

Well 900 euros is still a LOT of $$$ for a board that will not have the ATC.
I'm not sure if just a tail protection ( that we will have still for the same price) and good construction justifies that price for a regular (good quality) board...

Stay tuned :): Funny to see the jump from 14-15cm width to 22. something in just a season hehe...

Nils
Tom: no worries we would not bann you lol :)

Hi, Nils
If I read your statement well, will the SWOARD for next season be with a tailprotection for the same price, what will be the solution you made?

Where is this data from??

Post by skywalker » Saturday 20 March 2004, 12:31

I still don't think, Frank will call it Extremecarver. This would not be a name for a virus ;). Hans: Where do you have this data from?

  The competition really started, Nils is a little bit sour and the SWOARD will be improved ;)

Hi Tom
I had this information from Frank. He also made a topic at www.bomberonline.com : http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/s ... eadid=1918
And you can also look in his profile where he stated the material:
Current Boards in your Quiver VIRUS Gladiator 175 , VIRUS Extreme Carver ME 109
Current Boots Used? Virus UPZ Limited edition
Current bindings and set-up? VIRUS Powerlock Worldcup Classic

Will the SWOARD be improved ? Well this a question where we will know an answere to it next season, it's good to have more boards on the market in this specialism. People can choose then what they prefer. Will keep SWOARDmanufacturers and other companies sharp to improve products and listen to the wishes of their clients. This is good for consumers like me who search for the ultimate fun for their money.

Greets, Hans.

Yes, of course....

Post by skywalker » Saturday 20 March 2004, 12:56

...but there are only one or two prototypes finished. I guess in some strange colour and without a name on it. There is no model called extremecarver to buy from virus, but there will be one next year suitable for extremecarving under which name ever.

Same with the boots, they WILL come, but you could not buy them yet... So we're talking about the future ;)

Hi, Tom
Well I think very close future, from september 2004 when the new line will be ready as with the new boots to come, as Frank told me. Pics from the boots within two weeks time (prototype).

Hi Hans...

Post by skywalker » Saturday 20 March 2004, 13:21

I've seen the Prototypes of the boots already... they do look really suitably!!! Bu my interest wasn't that huge because of my Northwaves. never change a winning team, you know ;).

Yes, there will be some well tested and adjusted EC-boards by Virus on the marke for the next season. By then we will have some serious comparison. I guess ME109 will be a good and likely name for the board ;) ;) ;). I'm planning to test one of the Virus-Protos on one of the next weekend, maybe at the carving-session by pureboarding in Davos... You could be there, too ;)

Have a nice weekend...

Future imitations

You talk about "cosmetics" ? Yes of course...
People who focus on cosmetics of the board instead on real EC performances (like skywalker hehe ;-)) can find all what they wish in the shops...

A speciality developed by Extremecarving.com and SWOARD for years... Our boards have been conceived in parallel to our development of extremecarving. And vice versa!
So why use another board, an imitation developed in one year? ;-) Well... try it and you will see that a large width is really not enough

Anyway I'm really happy to see that the time of exclusively narrow boards is over: one of our goals is reached.

Moreover those new boots from Virus are excellent news!!

I don't care that much about cosmetics, have never decided becaus of optical reasons. Only think, quality should be seen, too... more next weekend ;)

Best regards, whishing you a nice Sunday and Monday carving in your formerly secret spot.

Iusually I prefer the term special agent *LOL*. But seriously: In fact I am not working for virus nor getting an reward from them (at least not YET     ). Well, maybe I should try to change this...

Spy for Virus

Post by fivat » Tuesday 23 March 2004, 17:35

Skywalker, a spy never admits he is a spy ;-)

Moreover you get prototypes from Virus... Thus you will never test a Swoard objectively. :-(
And a serious test implies 1-2 days carving on a Swoard (to be used to the width and to discover all the potential of this incredible board), not 1-2 runs like you did at ECS'04. :snooty: 8O

Patrice Fivat

PS: Next week-end we will get excellent conditions in Zinal (weather and hard snow). See you there and don't forget your spy camera :-)

O.K., let's change boards...

Post by skywalker » Tuesday 23 March 2004, 21:36

Hey Pat,

you did your judgement about my board after two or three runs, I did more than 4 hours on the swoard. O.k., I would never have given you the Virus for such a long time. But bring a 175 M with you next weekend I will have sonething with me for you, then we can make obvious comparison ;))). We have a lot to discuss, I guess ;)))

I'm Already excited about the weekend!!! Looking forward to meeting you again, dear SWOARD-guys ;)

Tom, Pat,

i will bring my 175 H with TD2´s with me for this weekend in Zinal so Tom should have the possibility to ride my board too because for such a good rider a 175 M would be to easy to ride i guess

Looking forward to see you this weekend in Zinal.

Cheers

Tommaso

Hey :D as one of the ECS'04 organizers, I had to coach people who asked me some tips and wanted to see me carving with the board on which extremecarving was developed! 8)

And you will never see a Burton rider testing and Nidecker board during an official meeting 8O . Nevertheless, I tested your Virus prototype, by pure passion... Hopefully I have no boss at Swoard who could kill me ;-)

Patrice Fivat

PS: I will bring a Swoard 168M demo for you...
