I have never riden a hard boot setup so am wondering how does the general flex rate compare to something like a Burton Custom X or Ride Timeless which are both freeride boards. I know its torsionally very stiff but what about laterally. When a hard booter says its has quite soft flex I don"t know how that compares for a soft booter of 20 years experience . I am 180cm but only 64kg but need the width of the 168 for my prefered riding angles. I spend most of my time carving but also like jumping occasionally and riding fresh snow every chance. I like my boards stiff but thats very soft compared to most alpine boards? Will the dual 168 be soft as most high end FR/FS boards.
Thanks Bert

My Swoard EC 175M feels more soft hand flexed than most softboot boards (Burtons usually) some of my friends ride. Only torsionally more stiff. I once rode a Custom X but it was built for people 10 kilos lighter than me so I didn't like it at all.
Stiffness is not the most important thing for a good carving board, a good board should flex but not fold. Swoard is soft but doesn't fold as easy. If you ride for 20 years and you select the right Dual for your weight and size you should never have a problem.
