My experience is that starting the heelturn being very low (pull) combined with the rotation makes it easier to succeed. Therefore, both good forward flex in the boots and some lateral flexness in the bindings will help. But as long as you feel that your boots and bindings do not hamper your movements it is OK. We do not talk about religion, only recommendations based on experience. Since we all are different built, we have to find out what works best for each of us. Best way to improve is to practice, practice, and practice.
