The teaser is really teasing !!!!

As said by Franck. You see the quality of shooting, editing and material used.

Can't wait to see the whole thing.

And seeing the quality I'll be ready to pay for it. ie . DVD, Hi-def version etc...
But I'm not going to interfere with the distribution. Do what you think is right. I don't want to start the whole debate again.

Very cool! I like how the music cuts off right before the exciting parts so both the visuals and the audio leaves you hanging.

Be sure to download the teaser instead of watching the streaming one - it's significantly higher res, and then don't forget that the final res of the real HD footage (correct me if I'm wrong, Jonas :) ) is twice as good as that (or 4 times more pixels).

Jonas, I have a Lustre Suite here and have color graded digital before, so if you need "help" with color grading I am happy to take a look at your film :D (just kidding. Well, sort of - I do have a Lustre Suite here but I am mostly trying to be sneaky about getting an advance copy ;))

@kjl
Thanks for the offer man, but we graded Carved on scratch, as it supports the r3d files native, with the great support from Assimilate, Di-DEA and Raphael Nomine. All in Paris.

You are correct, that the final output is 2k and HD, that is 1920x1080 pixels versus those from the trailer (1024x512). You get 4x more pixels, 4x times
"as good". It makes no sense for me to convert to higher for the teaser, as no sane computer setup can playback 1080p from h264 compression. Last thing I want are playback problems for the audience.

Nice try about the advanced copy, though. I would more need help and advise on the distribution of Carved, so do not give up and keep the offers coming. :-D

Glad to hear, you guys like it so far.

BD-5 testing

Post by Jonas Rejman » Sunday 11 May 2008, 23:11

If you have a Blurayplayer and/or a Playstation 3 and would like to be part of a little authoring test, drop me an email with the specs of the player, you will have exclusive access to the teaser in FullHD. You would need to download an image and burn it on DVD and test it in your Bluray players. It is a special format of Bluray, and I need to test on a range of Blurayplayers, to see if this approach would make sense.
