Swoard future > excellent news and 3rd generation!

Post by fivat » Wednesday 29 August 2007, 18:56

The Swoard team is happy to publish this official announcement:
 official announcement 2007 (PDF file) > click here!
(other languages: French, German, Italian)

We have worked hard from spring and during the summer to plan and start a new production, 100% Swiss made, with some news benefits and improvements. The tests of the prototypes on the glaciers (with good snow conditions since the summer was rainy) are excellent :D As always, we want the best under our feet, otherwise this adventure would not interest us.

Most of the production will be done during September! Thus it will be possible to get boards quickly for everyone. We are still going further in the high quality and the professionalism...

More info later, with especially some pictures of the "face lifted" board 8)

details

Post by nils » Wednesday 29 August 2007, 21:07

details will come soon such as:

- availability ( good news there too hopefully)
- pricing ( should be in the same range...small increase expected due to mold costs that are just huge...)
- design and look

New look

Post by fivat » Thursday 30 August 2007, 10:58

Here is the new look of the 3rd generation :D

There are several modifications ("face lift") of the preceding look. We stay close to our philosophy of simplicity and elegance...

The letters of the Swoard logo are slightly softer and more modern. Slightly, because one doesn't see the difference from far enough ;-)
The tag with the S, which is reproduced on the base, is also something new. It suggests of course the carved turn... The angle of 90° recalls the edge grip.

In short, there are many thoughts and design works... realized with Lionel Fernandez (graphic professional), whom we thanks warmly for his nice job!

Post by Hans » Thursday 30 August 2007, 18:28

Congrats, looking nice. How about the specs like used materials for the base, topsheet? Any tailprotection? Titanal used? Just curious.

May be I am gonna sell my 3D.

So that means saving money again! Good news!!!

What is the main gain you have noticed while testing compared to the first and second generation. I own a First generation 175 M, and it's still great in every way!

small news

Post by nils » Friday 7 September 2007, 18:15

- Last series of protos are under test by Jacques and Patrice: we're almost there into production... Small improvements are made still because we want boards that are even better than the previous generations :)

- Production should begin as soon as protos are approved by us, this month! :)

- We are working now with a Swiss partner that will be able to deliver the boards in 1-5 days in Europe from order to your house :) (providing that there are some left boards in stock). It's an incredible improvement compared to previous years where you could face 2-3 months waiting time (order, produce, ship)

- We have made a new order / billing / shipping process... Orders are going to be dealt with incredible reactivity :) ... If u hesitate between flexes / sizes, read the site carefully, then email us for answer eventually, then order online!

- We have chosen a new finish for the topsheet... looks great :) Other improvements (tail, tip, performances, ...) will be detailed!

- Unfortunately due to extremely high industrial mold costs, we think we'll have to postpone the making of 161 size... As soon as finances can make it possible again, of course we will reproduce it in all three flexes. It could happen during the season as well if everything goes ok.

More news to come when we go into production this month... We'll begin orders a bit early when we know the exact delivery date from the factory :)

Thnx again for your support :)

we can maybe solve the problem with a few 161M we have from the last production...i think there is 3-4 left.
if you want to prepay a mold for the 161's, its fine too :)
