I was at Mammoth and June on March 11 and 12. I was with a friend who was riding a Swoard 161M. This is his first season on an alpine board. Another friend has the 168, also his first season on an alpine board. Neither of those guys post on EC.com or BOL.

So just from the people I know, there are 2 Swoard owners in Orange County.

Frank,

I'm pretty sure I met you at the impromptu expression session we had at June back in Jan. That was when 12 carvers converged on Gunsmoke. I think you were riding a really skinny Virus that day. I was on a blue Donek.

My friend with the Swoard will probably be back at June on the weekend of the 24th. But I probably won't go unless conditions look to be epic.

I do plan on being at the Mammoth/June expression session in April.

There are also some Swoard riders at Mt. Rose and Kirkwood.

So that makes about four or five?

I'd just like to compare notes with other riders on the lift.

June session

Post by yomama » Tuesday 14 March 2006, 17:36

Frankie,

I think I know two guys from Tahoe with Swoard who will probably attend the June session.

I also own a Swoard 161M, s/n 0005  first generation but I cannot make it. As I know of, there are five Swoard owners here in the Tahoe area but there are quite a few Swoard clone shape out there as well made by Coiler, called the EX. People who own the EX are quite happy with that board and they ride push-pull style/technique.

Hope you guys would have a great time and make sure to share with us some video!!

Erwin'
Yeh I remember you I was on a Virus that day. But I'm realy getting into my new SWOARD.I've been doing a board switch half day.Virus takes alot of concentration. 158 Madd is quick and carves big and small. But the SWOARD is great for laid out heelside turns that holds like glue.
Peter
Do you ride Kirkwood? Thats a great mountian.

At June my favorite run is Deer Bowl. It's great for EC. I just wish it was twice as long.

On Sunday, with perfect hero snow, I was able to do my best EC ever(toeside and heelside) on a Burton Alp 171! I tried to talk my buddy into letting me ride his Swoard for a few runs, but no luck.

Erwin
Does your friend with the 161 SWOARD want to sell it?

Earlier in the season, my friend Jay had boot fitting problems with his Raichle SB413's. I think at that point Jay was having second thoughts about getting into alpine.

But Jay has switched to Head boots, and now he can ride comfortably. And with the hero snow at June, he was actually carving linked turns. So now, he loves the Swoard. I don't think he'll be selling it any time soon.

However, he does have a pair of boots for sale. Raichle SB413, mondo 25, with standard and thermoflex liners. The thermoflex liners were molded 3 times. The boots have only been used about 3 days.

If anyone is interested in the boots, they can email me via my profile and I'll broker the deal.

Frank, are you thinking about getting a 2nd Swoard (if yes, why) or is it for someone else?

161 SWOARD

Post by Frankie » Thursday 16 March 2006, 3:13

I'd like to get the 161 to add to my quiver. I have lots of longboards not enough shorter boards. The 158 Madd is also one of my new favorites to ride.
