Which SWOARD to get?

Post by 5_against_1 » Wednesday 9 January 2013, 21:04

Hi,

I’m just about to order a Swoard and I’m torned between two models (168H or 175M).

Here are my dimensions.

Weight: 182 lbs (82.7 kg) I plan to lose some weight though, my target weight is 170 to 175 (77 to 79kg)
Height: My height is about 182 cm (right on the suggested cutover to a 175 board)
Feet size: 9 US (Current snowboard boots are size mondo 27 and they’re a bit small... So 27.5 would probably be better. I plan on buying new boots in the future)

Riding style? Trying to achieve smooth extreme carving. 80% groomed slopes... 20% powder/soft snow.

Which board should I get?

Thank you,

My dates are the same and I just ordered a 168H.
Would be the right one for you too.

But - if it´s not only a plan to loose weight
And - if you are often on hardpacked or icy snow, the 168M could be a possibility too.

That's right. With this feet size, the 175 would be too wide.
168H for now, 168M later. ;-)

What a hard decision!!! I used to be 220lbs... lost about 40lbs in the last few years. Now I plan to lose some more but where will/should I stop? 175? 170? 165? 160?... tough decision.

Do the boards get softer over time?

Hi! With 168H you can safely go down to 170 lbs. 8) How much time do you think it will take you?

I'd say a year. So next year I would ride at 170lbs (77kg). It looks like a lot of people can handle the 168H at 77kg... So it sounds like that's what I'm going to get.

Thanks people,

Yes, the boards are really easygoing.
Last week a friend of mine weighting only 65kg tried my own board (168 H) and didn't have any problem with stiffness :)

For your feet size, height and weight a 168 H is a good choice.
