I broke my swoard (serial 168) landed a bit on the tail after a stupid jump



I will order a new one asap... Do i get a refund?

I think you forgot a , or in the last sentence, this board is already a few years old (or did you mean partial refund?)

Same has happened to me once, but still the board was repairable because there was no actual breakage only delam. This looks pretty hopeless to me. Did you also use F2 intecs on the board?

But look at the bright side: you have a very good excuse to come to the next ECS

Damn, what a breakage! RIP ! The only board I managed to break like this was a prototype hand made by Jacques in the nineties, and it was in a jump too.

I heard indeed that the Intec binding could be a reason that a board can break due to it stiffness.. I don't think that when i had a normal F2 Ti binding that the board would stay in one piece.

I'll stay with my intec bindings... for now

Have you ever tried classic bindings on your swoard? The performance is way better than with intec's. I prefer intec's only on narrower boards, smaller than 20cm in the middle.

This is really personal preference issue Some people see advantages of regular bindings, some people - do not I do not know why it`s different

It's all about the lateral flex. At lower angles a flexible / lose binding will be supportive to your riding, while at higher angles it will be rather counter productive. Just think about it.

Exactly. But of course, anyone can use what he wants. Like me, I used Titanflex for about 2 years, untill i recognized that classic bindings are (for me) way better on wider boards.

I think the way forward in the progression of bindings with good lateral flex is something like the TD3 Sidewinder. To me that engineered flex looks more trustable than riding an old burton race plate that can explode any moment....

But that is just me, I know that even pro riders ride those old and lousy bindings, I know that Jacques and Patrice don't even tighten up their bindings just to have more flex, etc.

No, I have always tightened up my F2 bindings normally (as I did with all my other bindings). Jacques too, except with his old TD2 and, especially, the TD1: the rumor started from this I guess (see the old feedback in 2004 comparing TD2 and TD1). The TD3 and any other good bindings for extremecarving should not be too loose... for safety reasons.

Note that the new bails on the F2 Race Titanium are thicker and make the bindings stiffer. I don't want to use them for this reason. Some riders even broke their Head hardboots with them.
