Hello!
Does anybody know how customs procedures work importing a Swoard to Germany?
At which point of the shipping process do I have to pay VAT and import tax?
Is the shipping company going to hand over the board to my nearest customs office and I have to pick it up and pay there?
Or is the shipping company going to charge me at my housedoor before handing it over?
Or is the shipping company going to hand it over without charging and the customs will send me an invoice sometime?
If anybody has experience, I would be happy if you let me know!
Thanks!

just have it sent to some swiss friends and pick it up yourself. on the way you stop by at some ski resorts and test your new baby, as I did. saves you 12% VAT (19% mwSt. minus the 7% you have to pay in switzerland) plus 2,7% 'Einfuhrzoll' import tax. At 655€ that makes 96€ plus 22€ (8€ instead 30€ for shipping) makes 118€ that you save.
well from where you live at the given fuel prices I guess it would only make sense if you'd plan on skiing in switzerland anyways.
