EC instructors in Germany, Austria?

Hi all,

I learned Snowboarding some 20 years ago, but during raising the kids a lot was lost. Now I am starting again and need some lessons. Do you know of any EC aware instructors in Germany or Austria?
When really starting it all again, I don't want to spoil it all by wrong 'instructions'. I was just out for a day and getting the feeling back is harder than I thought

Hello and welcome back to alpine snowboarding!

Are you looking for the EC style originally defined here with Swoard (based on rotation, push-pull, specific wide board developed by Jacques Rilliet, flat binding, modified boots, etc.) or the style "facing the nose"?
Unfortunately some people are using now the term EC for carving hard, but not really for what this name has been invented in 2002 here. So there is some confusion now. And we can't prevent some brands (like F2) to use the term "extremecarving" for mercantile purpose.

Back to your question: the best would be that you participate in the Swoard Demo Tour. There is a session very close to Austria, but it was in December. Join us in France, Italy or Switzerland. Maybe in the future we could go to Austria, but not this season.

Hi Patrice,

I am indeed interested in your very own EC technique, up from the fundamentals to the laid turns! I'll have a try taking part in La Thuile, but it'll be hard due to family and professional obligations.
As I am very much out of whatever (carving) shape, does it even make sense to take part on that weekend, or would it make more sense to get back more of a felling for the board again?

Yes, it's probably better that you first get back to alpine snowboarding on your own this season.
Train with the help of our technique pages, ask questions in this Forum, and join us in the Swoard Demo Tour during the season 2012-2013.
