Araldit will not work. But perhaps loctite-type glue which is specially mentioned for plastics could save them, atleast to be used with Intec's
Anyway this is one more good reason to switch to step-in's :bravo:

If you want to hang your life on a pair boots be my guest :? . Anything that's broken of my (snowboard) sports material, I throw it away. Wouldn't think of what will happen when I will be in a front side turn and my shoes will break out of the binding.

Hi !
Thank you for your opinion - my opinion is similar. Ride in the mountains can be dangerous in those shoes.
About this that the shoes will be used, or intended for parts - the owner decides. :)
I greet you

I would clean the fracture properly by alcohol and then use Loctite or some plastic spesific glue. However,to me it seems there are still enough plastic material to keep the boot attached on the back bail. In any case, it is still good boot to be used with intec bindings.

Loctite won't glue better this kind of plastic than Araldite. In, addition the Loctite has a good adherence on some plastic (if you use the reference 406 with a specific surface preparation) but has poor fatigue resistance. The materials used to mold boot shells are elastomeric, and it's very difficult to obtain a good adhesion.
Hot air welding could be a solution but is very difficult to execute, and, again, the area being highly stressed it's probable that it will crack again.

Loctite has glue specially dedicated to plastics. I see that it could prevent that crack getting bigger, not fixing it as such.
So to be clear, i would not use them after glueing them with normal bindings, but only with Intecs

On the other hand, aluminum heels can be screwed instead of plastic ones and they should add an extra strength. But no one will guarantee that this boot won't crack... I would strongly suggest to buy a new set of shells...

Sorry, there is no glue or plastic welding solution to make the boot once more fully durable...

Yes. As I wrote above, its reference is Loctite 406 and works better with Loctite 770 or Loctite 7239 primer.
Several years ago I made some gluing tests on plastic test bars. The results were quite good with Loctite 406 using some conditions :
- perfect surface preparation : cleaning using MEK and sanding
- use of primer
- Gluing joint must work in shear direction , never in tensile

I think that none of these conditions are applicable here ...

install INTEC heel - using t-nuts inside the boots. better can be used with INTEC bindings, but it will provide enough support for bails also.
