I think you have seen polyurethane coating on gloves of some russian guys'
They use this material from a chemical laboratory located in St.Petersburg Russia. It consists of 2 components. Unfortunately row components do not live long time after we got it.

shoe goo is one of the best solution to carving gloves.
easy to use, stronger then sika, dry quickly.

this glove is coated with shoe goo went 2 winter on hardpack snow.
I coated it twice. The second layer to weak zone, after a half of winter.

No, for sure it was poliglut, the franch guy told me this name.
I read that both sikaflex and poliglut are toxic. Is it a problem?

Yes it's toxic, but if you are working in a well ventilated room, it's not that dangerous. And of course: it's not for oral use

Ale :

The name is Polyglut and this product is produced by the french company Grolleau.
It's a liquid rubber, very easy to apply but not as wear resistant as Sikaflex.
A similar product called Aquagluten is available in some diving shop (was also distributed by Decathlon) : http://www.auvieuxcampeur.fr/nos-produi ... -ne-5.html

Sikaflex is a polyurethan elastomer (mono-component) produced by the well known company Sika. It's wear resistant (more than Polyglut), but is much more viscous, and difficult to apply. I will make some tests to dilute it with Acetone or MEK to ease the application.

Oh no, i'm used to eat sikaflex on the bread at breakfast
seriously, don't you think that it's dangerous for the hands at long time?

Not dangerous, but very disgusting for many, many days, if you don't wash your hands with aceton direct after smudged them. 8)

I have compared wear resistance of SIKAFLEX and SHOE GOO.
SIKAFLEX wear out faster then SHOE GOO and SikaFlex is more difficult to apply.

Hi Guys!
A little trick to apply Sika flex, easy and clean.
This way is how I apply it.

Pelling a potatoe, cut a piece or a strip strong enough to apply the product, put a liitle quantity of sika over your glove and extend with it, when you feel that the strip of potato starts to dry ,wet it with a little water and continue with the application of the product. its clean fast and very easy, so that's simple .

Right Sito ! That apply also to silicon elastomers.

Btw, we don't see you in Peyragudes. Why ?

Just use SIKA 252. When you apply it use some aceton to mix. It will be easier to apply then.
