Exactly. That's why count me in as well for these ACSS beauty edition. Have to get rid off those BTS springs.Abrax wrote:BTW: The 1st generation of the ACSS for Deeluxe system was just as straight as BTS! (And the back of my snowboard pants were really badly damaged after just one day...

Re: ACSS - Advanced Carving Spring System for Deeluxe
Hmmm that's just too bad....I really thought BTS was designed around this problem, I thought I was setting it up wrong all the time because the springs jammed so quickly.... But I'm getting my new Head Stratos Pro set up at the moment, so that problem has gone anyway (I really didn't like the fit of the Indy's....). I'll contact you for the ACSS pretty soon
I was somewhat surprised with the amount of flex I got out of in Indy's with some cutting in walk mode, it's not a bad boot if your feet are happy with them.

I've already prepared 2011 ACSS sets for the season. So You can buy them in the same price by now.
But I want to make them more elegant. So I've asked You to wait a bit. I don't want to tell You that You have to wait till March. I'm just dealing with 18V and H2SO4 and similar nice stuff... But this is time consuming...
The 2012 sets will be announced soon. But I can't tell You anything more that it will be in the next week. I'm sorry no 2012 set's yet. Please wait... Work in progress 87% done.

Re: ACSS - Advanced Carving Spring System for Deeluxe
Hi there,
As You all know ACSS is made from different materials.
Look at the pic g1.jpg: here we have stainless steel, galvanized steel and aluminum. As You know, every part is waterproof, but the esthetics were far from acceptable.
Aluminum itself is waterproof, but it leaves it's molecules on surfaces making them dirty.
As we don't like dirty pants... We would like to have the aluminum parts painted...
Unfortunately painting aluminum is a 100% fail procedure as there is no really adhesive paint to cover aluminum. One can paint it but just after few days the paint starts to crack and come off...
Aluminum oxidation is the process which is needed to paint it with a success. Of corse galvanizing aluminum is hazardous and is not really available as a DIY stuff. Several acids and some truly poisonous fluids are used. And I must say that I really don't like HNO3... It's something really unpleasant...
Sorry for this input, let's get back to the pics. We need just the aluminum parts ->
And we need to degrease them, consume them in HNO3, and finally make them green! (oxidation) ->

Re: ACSS - Advanced Carving Spring System for Deeluxe
And so we do have oxidated aluminum, which is perfectly prepared to paint it!
So now we need some color. Do You know any better color than Swoard Gen3 mixed color? -> Aren't You curious how it looks when mounted in the boot?
Here You are -> EDIT: I don't know how it happened but the above picture shows how You SHOULD NOT mount the ACSS... This only U-shape part (which has been already wasted) was drilled on the opposite side, so it is actually upside/down. Anyway, please don't mind it, the final system is made with no option of mounting it this way. I've written this because I don't want You to think that it should be mounted like this
