Need boot shop and fitter near Boston!!
Hi,
I am looking for a good shop where i can find hard boots, and a great boot fitter close to Boston. I'm interested in Stratos Pro, but also UPZ or Raichle... I'm happy to drive a couople of hours for the right shop.
This is really important to me, so i thank you in advance for any advice you can give!
A bit of history: started in 1991... used a pair of UPS boots 'til they fell apart a couple of years ago and got some Stratos Pro online. They seem good, but kept getting terrible shin bang. I must admit that i probably bought them too big (yes the typical beginner's mistake!).
I now ride a Sword (gen 2?) and couldn't be happer. Before that i had several asym Mistrals, SnowPro and Burtons... Started in 1991 and never tried soft boots...

And can happend that there is any problem in the foot.
Usually the thermoliners are not enought for all the shapes

because your feet are regular. A lot of people ask for a bootfitter, and the job of a bootfitter is not just putting the liner in a oven.starikashka wrote: My feet is 290MP, but my boots is designed for 270MP feet I`ve done bootfitting using my own hands and kitchen owen and do not feel it`s a complicated job.
That is why i`m asking. It is not because i do not aware about difficulties you have described.
If you don't have a problem, it doesn't meat that the problem doesn't exist for other people.
But... Do you use a plastic shell of 27 with a foot of 29?? Probably you use the boots without the liners

Pokkis are you joking I know how elastic my feet is but it does not change the lentght about 10% just because of footbedpokkis wrote:For some feet measuring size without footbed will give very different figure than measuring it with proper footbed
Ouch You should tell this to the guys in Soelden and some other places...They are certainly think differentQuattroAnte wrote:job of a bootfitter is not just putting the liner in a oven
Proper bootfitter should examine the feet and prepare this properly, but this is not difficult .
If we talk about flat feet issue - this is not bootfitter issue, but doctor Proper footbed can help.
Would you like to see how to preare the feet?

You could ask at http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/ - most people there are from North America.

And so what? If doctor say that person with feet like can ride i would ask doctor about the requirements for the liner.QuattroAnte wrote:And for problem like that?
not my case, but more common that you can think.
The only thing bootfitter can do is just add something on particular places identified by doctor to provide additional space. That`s all
OuattroAnte, do you have any bootfitting experience? :-)I mean something like that
Or even worse like that

but of course a bootfitter could do it better than me.
I'm of the same idea that you are thebootfitter of yourself, but not everyone can make the correct modifications
