UPS boots

Post by koldo » Wednesday 13 October 2010, 15:19

Hello,

a friend of mine is a begiiner carver and he has an opportunity to buy these, probably, UPS X-mach hardboots.
Does any of you have any experience with these boots? I found a very little information about them, all i know is, that the shell is supposed to be little softer that RC10.

Thanks for your replies!

Hi koldo,

I don't have any experience on these boots on snow (only tried them on "carpet")!

This boot is the UPS X Mach from the Year 2000/2001.
The boot was than at regular price of Euro 255.- (Germany)

This modell was anounced as the softest shell of all boots with interchangable sole- and heel-module. This type of shell was once designed for stiffness. They call them "multi discipline" boots. Keep in mind, boots which are good for carving-skis must have enough stiffness!

Out of this, UPS manage to talk from a boot for freecarving (on snowboards/raceboards).

Special: Your boot of desire has straps instead of buckles on the colar. Thats not regular, but they would give more flex and forgiveness.

If boots wear good on the feets of Your friend, You/he can give a try.
But please go with non step-in bindings at first, for to give enough lateral flex.
Gliding on Snowboards,
like Pogo, Kessler, Virus, Hot, Nidecker and others,
from 151 up to 183 cm and 14 to 27.4 cm width,
covering any kind of shapes with
any kind of boots and bindings.
