So you are starting a little tradition here? :P

I was also already checking for prices and places to stay just a few days ago I must confess  can anyone attending previous editions give an estimate of lift pass and cheap appartment costs for three days?

You have more indoor slope space average on country square, so you can fix this high temperature thing quite easily :-) Also winter is still somewhere now :-)

- Geneva was Yesterday at 36.2° and sommer-time wouldn't end.
- Siders was Wednesday at 36.4°. That was the hotest spot of whole 2009 all over Switzerland!
French version here

So let it heat, let it heat, let it heat!

Beside that Roelh, do You know where Siders is located? Have You been there ever once in Your live? Just type in double-U-double-U-double-U dot siders dot CH in a internetbrowser and watch the site of the city which you browse. If You need help to know where it is, just ask some insiders of Swoard-riders. I'm sure they can help You!

Cool down indoor

Post by Roelh » Monday 31 August 2009, 9:37

Yep, indoor snow is nice and cool. However. I'am already looking forward to the real thing.

Did you now that summer training works also very well with a long board on wheels? On a regular basis we (3 Swoard Dutchies from Woerden) go down of a viaduct doing some nice 'carving' on wheels.

You can do this, even on the longboard, but you have to ensure proper settings to make uphill ride easer.

This does not make you closer to linked full laydown turns, unfortunately. But is a good excercise to keep you fit :-)

Who do You talking to?

So what a nice and warm weather now! E.g. see newspapers:
September 1. in Sierre@ +33.5° - The warmest start of September since decades
Mutch more in the north, at Bludenz, beside Silvretta-Nova it was a bit fresher @ +31.9°. Kitzbühel (Skiresort) was at 30.2°. Now one or two days follow with fresher weather, but next week the dry and hot weather will come back (+27° in the north at least!)
Best conditions for doing this: http://www.slalomskateboarder.com/

For older men, with higher budget (and weaker bones, like carvers e.g. in Sölden) I can recommend http://www.street-luge.com/ for to be more layed down at high speed (up to 90km/h) to the ground - even on steep streets with a lot of 180° curves and elevations like Rettenbach!

like e.g.: just watch the picture

What are the settings? Less tension on the trunks? Feet close togeter in the middle of the board or so?

Please let me know, i like to try this

I use slalom skateboard for cone racing which is 71 cm lenght. So my preferred settings work best for this. And also for relaxed city pumping :-) It is not necessary that my recommendation are the last truth, but it`s my only personal experience. I ride speedboard that copy Landyahtz Eva - works really well with similar settings, feets just stay as on shorter skate, more to the front of the deck.

I made rear truck very stable to be able pump the board by rear leg.
I leaned rear part(with wheels) of truck off the deck and install stiff bushings. I avoid stiffing the bushings by excessive kingpin tightening.

For front truck bushings has to be softer than for rear one, leaning is the same as for rear truck - rear part (with bushings) of the truck off the deck. This kind of setting is somehow reduces stability of front truck if you do speed downhilling. Settings has to be adjusted for higher speed. I would say more than 30 km/h.

Trucks installed with bushings facing inside off the nose/tail

I use different truck angles for front and rear truck. More base angle for front truck. 45 vs 30

This is equipment part :-) To make your efforts smaller

Technic - see the articles of D.Gessmer,CEO of Seismic Skate System. He is incredible skater!!

P.S. Wear a helmet, wristguard glowes and other protective shit. It`s really helps if needed :-)

BTW - aaa...can we book the rooms and airplane tickets for ECS?

awful off-topic :-) shame on you Roelh, you have started it first!!
