TD2 Ti Rear Bails

Post by István » Thursday 5 February 2009, 10:20

This season in Zinal I managed to brake 2 of these. They broke right in the middle.

Setup:
- Virus X-treme Carver, Bomber TD2, Bomber Suspension Kit, Deeluxe T700, Bomber BTS (so a pretty soft setup)

Other parameters:
- There were no loose parts, I check the bindings regularily. The binding is not overstretched when closed, it only needs a moderate force to close.
- The breakages happened once on the back, once on the front, no jumping, no crashlanding, just normal laid turns. Maybe some ice, hard push and chatter was involved.
- I'm only 85kg nowadays.

Anyone has any idea how to avoid such breakages? :?: I know that J+P got themselves some very special, gzillion dollar, tempered steel, nano-tech, supa-dupa bails, but I think those are not available for us.

Thanks

Ps.: One more important thing to note here: Bomber Customer Service is amazing and up to the highest standards you can imagine. I just sent a message to Michelle from my Blackberry right after the damage happened and she immediately posted the sparepart. When it happened again I e-mailed her again, she posted immediately an other piece. Big thanks and appreciation to Bomber Team. :pray2: :bravo: :clap3: :hello:

ECing

So Istvan did you  break 'my' titanium bails ?

I think it's due to your EC style. Forces are much bigger, the lower you get the bigger angles there are on the board/binding interface. And since you don't ride very slow  , those bindings get some forces from you.......
