New music on Opus 3 > Stoked

Post by nils » Friday 21 November 2003, 18:48

Hi all, we changed the music of Stoked in order to avoid any copyright problem on the previous version. The new music is in total adequation of the movie which is cool because it was made especially for it !

You can email lulu the composer at this email : lulu-image@okao.com

Hope you like it!

IMWK

Post by vkrouverk » Friday 21 November 2003, 20:25

IMWK - Inquiring minds want know :D
Did you got into trouble (hopefully not!) or you just found someone, who was able and willing to compose music?
I watched this new movie and although such beat is not quite my taste (and I think such graceful riding style needs 'flying' or 'floating' symphonic music (or something alike), but it will be not so easy to organize, I guess :-) , it is better than wind howling to mic. And music has second priority in this video anyway...

Post by ablazespy » Saturday 22 November 2003, 13:37

Hi,

The first version was oke to me, but the second is not my kind of music :naughty:
I do not want to offend the composer   the song is well done :bravo: , I just do not like that kind of music sorry!!!! :silly:

I liked the sound of the Extreme Brother movie!! :evil2: Some said it was too loud for them because of age,( he Nils) my father age 55 loved the song :bravo: mmmm. I can just say one thing:
I WANNA ROCK!! :evil2: :wall:

Let democracy choose the right song, and I will cope with it!!

I don't mind

Post by vkrouverk » Saturday 22 November 2003, 16:02

For me it is same, old music or new one, it really does not matter, visual side is more important. But from legal standpoint it would be good to have legal music, otherwise you could indeed have trouble with someone. Moreover, you are in business now and probably creating some revenue, so it might cause more interest to sue you than just some individuals making movies. Fortunately here in Europe such lawyers feast is not so widespread as in USA...
I know that swedish Alpinepunk group makes punk-rock-alike music (to their carving videos) and they have made music to pureboarding (could be heard in pureboarding site), so perhaps they can create something to extreme carving video if contacted (punk-rock seems to be popular in snowboarding videos)?

Well, I really preferred the first music - for me it matched the fluid style and the filming much better. The new music does not correspond very well with the movements, I get the impression.
What exactly is / was the problem with the first music?

Greetings, Eduard.

audacium, the first movie can't be distributed on CD or DVD, like Extreme Dreamer (with the goodies sent to every Swoard purchaser). :(

hello,

I personnaly like the first one better too...
It was a lot smoother and did fit alot more your style...

This one is a bit too electro and too "violent" if you see what i mean...
I'm sure the composer could do something a bit smoother... couldn't he? ;)

I think both are fine. Like previously posted the visuals are most important.

I love the new music (I liked the old music, too).

The first one is more touch-feely-happy, and the second one is more housy-groovy. Both seem to fit the style of extremecarving quite well, in my opinion. The second one is cool because it's made to fit the movie (like the pause in the music during the slo-mo sections).

Very cool.
