Wrong Board?

Post by Goldfinger007 » Saturday 3 January 2009, 22:57

Hallo everybody from sunny Spain!

I am 168 high and 68 kg so I choose the 161 H, never thinking my boot would be too long ( I not have my boots them with me when making the order so I couldn’t mesure them), as my foot is only 26,5/27 cm long I assumed I had a normal foot (and a do!!). When I started setting the bindings I realised that my boots (deelux track 700 28,5 size) are too long for the width of the board (32 cm long!!!!). Then I have to put the bindings in 63/65 and more degrees to be able to carve, but then no control.

One thing I very clear to me. This model boots are very very big for the actual size of the foot , correct? The fact is that I feel very confortable with these boots track 700, but I ca see thaey are very big.

What do you think I should do? Buy the Sword 175? would it be too long for a short tipical spanish like me only 168 high?

Sorry,

Why when you have 26,5 mondo feet you've bought 28.5 mondo boots?
If you had bought your right mondo boots maybe their will come in smaller(shorter) boot shells and your problem wouldn't exist.

FYI, smaller foot sole boot nowadays on the market are UPZ but I don't know how good are these boots for E.C.

Question was: " wrong board?"
Answer is (at first): No, wrong shoes. Too large.
Typical mistake of many hardbooters, buying the same bootsize as in "normal" shoes. :naughty:
Hardboots must fit tight to give a good performance.
So it should be Mondo 26,5 or 27.

Hm, Freecarver is right. Even a Mondo 26,5 is large for a 168 Swoard.
But no discuss for a 175 Board.
I think the new boots should be tried on the 161 Board. If that doesn´t work as well, we´ll see.

The new UPZ is softer than the older models. This choice should be discussed.
Less flex in the boots, but short soles, against good flex but longer soles.

Q pasa torpedorrrrr!
Nice to hear another hardbooter from Spain, we have only a few, la crem de la crem, As they have told you , first the size of your bots is wrong, if your foots lenght is 26,5 cm your boots might be 26,5 mondo point not 28,
First u might get your correct size boots.
(como te han dicho, primero si tienes un 26,5 de pie la bota debe ser 26,5 de talla llevas una bota mas grande de lo normal, deberias cambiarla)

This season we have tons of snow on our slopes, hope to see you cutting it!!
(a ver si nos vemos rayando las pistas)

Un saludo!!
Cheers!

Be careful with equivalency between foot size in cm and mondo point !!!!

My feet are 26.5 / 27 cm long, and the MINIMUM boot size for me is mondo 28. Last year I tried 27.5, but it was terribly painful after 2 hours, so I had to switch back to 28.

Only one rule for boots choice : TRY !!!!!

I 'm on center on Spain, so usually I go to north and south, just where there is more snow on the slopes!

Cerler is the nearest resort from Valencia , beauty resort, and not too much people on slopes . Some days ago I was riding At Andorra tons of snow and funny off pistes! lucky you don't to book any hotel to ride  !

Cheers!

Yes, I use Head Stratos with standard liners, but before I used Raichle 124 in 28.5.
When I bought Head Stratos, i tried also Suzuka and for both brand the best size was 28.0
I'm 174 tall

for Arnaud

Post by Goldfinger007 » Monday 5 January 2009, 23:30

Arnaud,

you have the same size of foot than me 26,5 cm and you are using a 28 mondo. i thought mondo was the same as size of foot cm's, but for you doesn't work like that.

the conclusion then is that i will have to chanche board from 161 to 168 anyway, bacause any 28 mondo or even 27,5 will always be to long for a 161.

am I right?

Feet size 26.5 = mondo 28 for both Head and Deeluxe is my own experience.

I'm afraid, yes
27.5 / 28 mondo fits perfectly with Swoard 168 width
