Seen at Serre-Chevalier, France, two weeks ago!
Incredible!! Straight out of 1988 without a bruise...
Same day i ran across a guy that had a Burton M6, old burton plates ( wire) and UPS boots of the time, with fluo gloves and full outfit of the 80's!!

You're a real chinese "paparazi" Nils !
What I prefer in his style is not the board... I love his big black sunglasses .
Notice that these old Emery bindings had pink rubber to make the connection between the hardboots (skiboots !) and the board more flexible. An other advantage was that it absorbed the small vibes.
Did someone actualy ride with a thin rubber plate between his boots and the bindings ?
Did he notice an advantage ?

yes
my first snowboard was a board i pressed under custom mold in a windsurf shop, i then added the emery bindings and of course after the first descent the screws ripped out and i had to go to a shop and they screwed them through all the way to the base....it was in baqueira, one of the biggest spanish resort, in which i actually was the first allowed snowboarder. ( they changed the rules banning snowboarding a day before i arrived !!)...
the emery plates were very good, damp and also very dangerous...but remember a LOT of people won race on them so
it was suicide times

You should have seen my first board.
Hey - my first board back in 86 had a swallow tail, and - sit down - a fin in the middle of the board, a piece of bent metal that stood out at the bottom about a 1 or 2 cm. Don't remember what brand it was...
It's a miracle I learnt boarding on this thing (that was in Morgins).
