Now, tuning Head Stratos Pro with BTS??
Hi all
I found a store which had both the Stratos Pro and the Deeluxe 700 (and that is extremely rare in Switzerland!). I tried them both, and ended up with the Stratos (I found the 700 totally uncomfortable and - honestly - ugly).
Now the other problem is that for the Deeluxe, the BTS system exists, which I find looks very good. From what I read in the forum, nothing really comparable exists for the Stratos.
(Well, I saw many images where the Stratos gets massacrated in various ways, but I'm a bit reluctant in drilling, cutting, etc. my new boots....).
So:
- Does the Stratos need modification for EC?
- Does the BTS fit to the Stratos (Bomber says no, no, no)?
Thanks everybody...

Arnaud's ACSS seems to be a far better system.
On the photo we can see BTS does overhang.

The (long) thread is full of infos, ideas and feedback.
... All in french, sorry for thoose who can't read it.
There's also a pdf with main infos and pics in english:

I think the system and tuning have been enhanced many times so you should ask for final advices directly on the thread.
Here is the last version of the tuning instructions:

Please, wait a moment, I will edit the previous post to add an english translation.

None of the commercially available boots work correctly without tuning.
This is supposed to be the best tuning for the Head at this time. It's not even that much.

Roughly the same is needed on the Raichle/Deeluxe ... for a little less good result.

Not sure if I would make that undertaking. For the time, I leave the boot like it is![]()

I was afraid and lazy to do it because it looked like modifying a lot, but actually that's fine (I even did it myself, and i'm a girl

Does anybody have the original springs or similar for me?
Hi all
Thanks for your replies...
... but before modifying my brand new Stratos, I would like to try something else, namely adding a spring BELOW the original mechanism.
But for this, I need the same springs as installed, or similar springs in diameter (both inside and outside).
Does anybody still have the original springs to give away or does anybody know where to get the same or similar springs?
Thanks for your help!
Cheers

i tuned my head stratos in a way without drilling.
see here on page 19 of the folowing thread:
viewtopic.php?t=1034&start=270
it works great!
however i also cut out the backside flaps on the inside of the shoe as arnaud showed earlier in the same thread. this makes the boot much more flexible.
in the beginning i wanted to have the bracket that holds the spring lasercut in a bigger number. but know since my home-made protoype works, I'm kind of lazy. maybe if we are a couple of stratos owners who are interested, i can have them lasercut. pic follows.

Can you make some of those for me?
Oh, that looks very good!!
Did I understand right that these parts are new ones, not the original ones, but bent?
If they're new, can you make some of those for me?
And where do you have the springs from?

yes i made new brackets and took the old ones out. problem with the old parts is that the spring travel is not long enough even if you would change the springs.
if you want i can make you a pair. maybe we should ask a few more people and we can have them lasercut out of stainless steel.
see pics for more details

Thanks for the pictures and for making me two. Sent you a PM with the address details.
Yes, in fact, I will try to change the springs first and add one below for backside... we'll see, but probably, as you say, there's not enough travel (about 2cm total space, giving around 1 cm travel with the softer springs).
