I see you got my picture of the salt lake special edition I am selling. They are 275 not 42.5 btw.

I dont see the point of RAB, SAB or anything else on the indy or other similar models, the shell just is not made to flex well.

Buy yourself a pair of Head stratos pro and put a spring system on them.

To add an additional nut to change the preload of the backward spring in combination with a shorter and firmer backward spring.

i did some thoughts about a tuning kit and came up with a solution without drilling holes into your boot. of course the lasercut part will be a little more expensive as a standard angle piece. and it will only work for HEAD Sratos.

The original part of the head boot is in steel so i guess i will go for steel too. i will do a couple of pieces in different length and let you know how it works.
maybe somebody is interested.

Hello topsinger

I don't know if you have already remarked, but in the French part is a very big topic about spring modifications on Head Stratos boots. Arnauld has made a system very similar to yours, but with extra holes in the boot.

To your solution, have you thought about what happens, if the shaft of the boot moves backwards and the shorter spring is charged?
I think your metal part or the plastic on the boot will be bent very quickly, have a look at the levers and the forces!

I'm making a prototype right now, to see what happens. i dont think the longer lever will be bent and the shorter one where the springs are fixed too is the same as Arnaud's. I will make it in steel 2,5mm.
Let's see.

That modification looks quite nice to me! I just started to think building that kind of modification for myself too. Thanks for the link Fanfoué! 8)
Btw. Altavista Babelfish did the translation from french to english pretty well..
