skimeter / flexmeter

Post by skywalker » Monday 1 October 2007, 13:05

Hello,

after a bad injury with her wrist, my girlfriend wants to try snowboarding again this winter, but she is a bit afraid about getting hurt again. After many hours on www this seem to me the best solution for wrist protection so far: http://docmeter.skimeter.com/index.php? ... ed551a9a32. Does anybody here have any experience with skimeter / flexmeter? Does it work or is it just again a pain in the ...? Thanks for your help!

These ones are also pretty good ones
http://www.prodesigned.com/accessories.htm
They make them according your own measurements so they should fit very well.
I have such ones, not for carving but for skating, and they are very supportive but still very comfy, atleast for me

O.k., I mentioned the brand (with homepage) already. I will add: Seems after some communictions, that I should take th 2 protection (dorsal and palmar). Anything else? ;)

I'd prefer black or grey. Now that is as specific as one can be.

I agree, take the 2 protector. I use a similar one (Crazy Creek or something like that) but outside the gloves for also sliding on the hands and protecting the gloves too. The protectors (like the 2) support both sides of the wrist and provide more safety when riding. Feeling afraid of falling and hurting oneself when riding create more mistakes and increases the chances for being injured again.

Those wrist protectors referred in my email are 2-side protectors.

Off topic warning for skywalker ends

Hi Tom!
I use my wrist protection only with dorsal option(they come with 2 option palmar , and dorsal and it is a simple skate-protection ), I extracted the palmar protection because it was very, very uncomfortable ,on the lift, adjusting my bindings on cold weather in middle of the pistes , trying to take something from my pocket, or simple carriying my board ...., so actually I ride only with dorsal protection.
I have had some big impact jumping or doing rails in the snowpark with my slalom board and never I had injuries on my both hands using this way.

Cheers!!!!!!
