I saw it in a shop in Soelden as well. Nice stuff, a little bit of titanal in there, the wood showing on the top...but nothing too exciting for me. Compared to the kessler sitting close to it...I would have bought the kessler if I had to buy titanal for more than a 1000€...

I had the possibility to test the Vampire in 168cm.
I had doubts because of the moderate shape. Is it a board only for sunday afternoon sunshine carving and not the fuckthehelloutofthisslope weapon that I am used to, when i ride a Virus.
And hey, this board is great. It feels like 10cm longer with an enormuous edge hold and absolutely great stability. I could not get it nervous no matter how fast I went. The board feels like having an automatic carve. I liked it very much and if you see the quality and the fun it delivers, 1.300€ seems to be not so far from a fair price.
@Istvan: Probably you can use this information. At the same days I've tested thy Zylon Gladiator. The Vampire feels totally different. For the Gladiator you need good sb-skills and you can beat the hell out of it. Every imuls from the rider translates into a movement. The Vampireist more comfortable and does more work for you while riding.
For those who understand german: I have written 2 Reports on these Boards on www.virus-snowboards.de

Zylon Gladiator. Really Good Choice. One of the best boards I've ever tested. I wish there migth come another Model in the extreme series which is 5-7cm longer. I would be the first to buy this board.

Istvan, size does Matter and I am big (my stomach and my ego).
Seriously, I felt the Gladi so easy to ride in any situation. Mogules, narrow slopes, slush, ice. It was like a freerideboard combined with a great carving board. So I wonder what will happen, if a similar board is 5-7cm longer and built with Zylon. I think Frank could name it: "Imperial Star Destroyer" or "Fuckthehelloutofthisslope".

Hi, i noticed that Virus doubled the prices... i have been using a Black death2 (payed new +\- 715 euro with bindings...) for 6 years.
Intresting that this year for 150 euros i bought a Rossignol 185 + 100euro for a Thias skwal (with bindings); i was asked 215 for F2 and 350 for a Tomahawk....
mah..... mbe selling them togheter i will buy a Virus....

Quality does require a price, but Frank is definitely NOT CHEAP... look at the clothing : Virus pants 409€...baseball cap 35€....come on...!!
Problem is that Germany has high production costs..and high incomes compared to most of Europe.
