no more deeluxe boots?

Post by xyxx » Tuesday 19 September 2006, 13:47

just checked the new deeluxe site and could not find any mention of neither the refreshed SB line, nor of any hardboot. Is anyone here aware of what's up in there?

I saw them somewhere on the web. However, no major change and most of all no spring system on the back like the 700. Crazy thing though is that i found hardboots and cateks on sale on amazon.com....

thanks for the reply, Silber, I've seen this picture already. I expected to see this picture now in the official catalogue of the company, but I didn't, and that looked somewhat surprizing to me. So I was wandering if anyone knows the reason. Maybe they just want to sell these boots under a different name. I don't know. Or they decided not to bother about hardboots at all. Don't know it either.
I suppose, dealers should have the information. I believe, the chap holding the boot is Fin, so he probably should know, but unfortunately his forum is the most surprizing forum in the universe, where registration does not bring one any rights, including posting access.

xyxx,
try again because bomber forum works fine and should work! might just be a registration issue...
then ask fin about the boot issue too there, am sure he will answer you :)

It seems they continue the manufacturing, and Blue-tomato already sells next season boots. But for whichever reason deeluxe indeed does not ad their hardboot line any more.

DeeLuxe Site

Post by yyzcanuck » Wednesday 4 October 2006, 17:27

The original plan for the 2006-2007 season was to have a separate website for alpine snowboard boots. That hasn't materialized yet. The softboot site is still under-construction and maybe... maybe? the hardboot site will someday appear.
Maybe some encouragement from curious customers? info@deeluxe.com

If you want to see the alpine boots, click on any of the softboots and a new page will appear. On the new page is a link to the alpine boots.

Or... go here.

DeeLuxe Track's now in store!

Post by Schneewurm » Thursday 5 October 2006, 9:37

Don't worry about the refreshed deeluxe SB line.
They are now everywhere, here in Central-Europe still in stores.
I fit a pair of them in September and I had paste a small Deeluxe Track 225 report (in German only).

Or have a view at the Frozen Backside http://frozen.sonistar.de/
Gliding on Snowboards,
like Pogo, Kessler, Virus, Hot, Nidecker and others,
from 151 up to 183 cm and 14 to 27.4 cm width,
covering any kind of shapes with
any kind of boots and bindings.

Schneewurm, thanks for the review! sad that the silly canting-adjustment mechanism is still the same. Hopefully the plastic is different. The old SB325 were behaving in a very different way at different temperatures, making the idea of metal buckles rather awkward.

Regulator, thenks for pointing to the shop, I haven't been there yet, but if I have some free time, definitely would drop by and take a look what's up in there.
I started this topic because of a concern that the the hardbooting rebirth of recent years was not profitable enough for companies and I was wondering if deeluxe threw in a towel. Good to see it's not the case.
Honestly, I'm not really in need for equipment for this season and perfectly happy with my eight-years-old prior, seven-years-old cateks, nine-years-old virus and eight-years-old SB325, but... Yes, the median age of the stuff might be of a concern :)

I'm looking at the 07 indy on bomber and I see springs on the back, and I might mention there will be a bts kit available in november from bomber to replace the factory springs

My understanding is that the only Deeluxe boots with micrometric buckles are the SB series replacements (i.e. what was the "Le Mans"), and that the asymmetric shell models (Suzuka and Indy) remain essentially unchanged. I've not been able to do an up-close comparison, but as I understand it the SB shell design has not changed significantly. I could certainly find very little difference between the 225 and 325 when comparing them side to side; Deeluxe say "carve flex" and "ride flex" but that could simply be the difference between tongues... I have no idea if the plastic itself has changed from the Le Mans to the 225/325, or, indeed, if it's different between the 225 and 325.

The 225 is the more freecarve boot. The 325 is the more racecarve boot. Just thicker and tougher materials are used. The shells hasn't differ that much from the earlier 325 (SBseries) which I have ridden about 10 years ago. Just the same mold like earlier. I like the asymmetrical boots (Suzuka and Indy) the most. They just fit more comfy to my difficult feet.

You can also get the INDY with micro-adjust buckles. The model is called INDY C. Your dealer had to special order them for shipment this year. You may also have a pair custom (hence the C model designation) made at the DeeLuxe shop in Austria if you drop by and see them.

The shell design is unchanged from the LeMans to Track. The plastic material has changed from the LeMans and the material of the Track 225 is different than the 325. You can see that at our comparison page... http://www.yyzcanuck.com/E_tech_article08.htm
