Can You write something about the Design of Your Knifer or paste a picture?

It seems that You have an older Design Version than the 1994/1995-Boards. But the lenght 171 was introduced in 1995/1996!

Test on SNOWBOARD 1994/95 (Germany)

Important detail:

When I read this, it seems that riding Performance has not change since more than a Decade to the newer Swoard's!

Price was DM 999.-, about 620 USD
L=171cm (67.32 inch)/
Nose/Tail=24.2cm (9.527 inch)/ Waist=19.4cm (7.637 inch)/
Weight=3.2kg (7.05 Pounds)
Stance 43-53 cm (16.929 - 20.866 inch)
Riders Weight > 65kg (> 174 lbs)

The Test-Report from the Magazine SNOWBOARD 1994/95 contains 28 different race-shapes and 24 freecarve-shapes, which are sold in severals lengts. About 100, or more freecarve-shapes/ 50, or more GS-shapes/ 75, or more SL-Shapes on the European market (which was splited to 60 % Hardboot-Rider and 40 % Softboot-Rider). Much more then there are on market yet!

Trying to translate the Test Report WD Knifer 151:

Particularly wildly this duck in the Alpine Competition class, from the house of Wild Duck, can not to be called, since some self-dynamics is missing to the board.
Due to poor existing pre-loading, the Wild Duck Knifer SL is problem-free to drift, the harder flex prevent however a liquid edge change.
Although the board don't shows blending edge tendencies and lets pull cleanly and calmly by the curve.
As a true pearl to ride the ugly Duck on highway conditions.
With already in nearly ultimate smooth running the board masters all requirements in the upper speed range.
Particularly Alpine Competition beginners are very well served with this Wild duck Shape, because the handling characteristics are rising very well with the skills of the pilot.
For the pros among the professionals the board requires a lot of Power and skill, to project the nevertheless quite high achievement potential to the slopes.

Ahh, The old Wild Ducks. I still have a 161TD in great condition! I even have WD plate bindings on it. Great board, insane edge change, but soft. I ended up putting Carbon Snow Stix on it back in the 90's to stiffin it up. The shape kinda looks like a baby Swoard, but narrower. Jacques and his magic shapes!

The Difference:

Post by U-turn » Saturday 25 February 2006, 12:21

Add.: sidecut of WD 171: 10.6 m = 34.77 feet

First the actual Swoard:

Overall Length (mm) 1610
Waist Width (mm) 210
Effective Edge (mm) 1420

Your Knifer TD:
(seems to becoming softer and softer, a standard difference to Pogo-Snowboards!)

Overall Length (mm) 1610
Waist Width (mm) 189
Effective Edge (mm) 1400

But there was also the wider Knifer GS:

Overall Length (mm) 1610
Waist Width (mm) 204
Effective Edge (mm) 1400
