about X-Bone Raichle Binding....

Post by lobella » Friday 20 December 2002, 12:30

I've bought one pair of used Raichle AF700TS and with the boots I've get
used Raichle X-Bone bindings ( not the carbon ones ).
I'd like to know if someone knows or have experience with this bindings.
They have a composite large plate that I assume can bend with the board,
but I've seen that the base bends a lot and I'm afraid that trying EC they can brake in some ways....some opinions ?
bye

Hi lobella,

i broke the Carbon X-Bone once, and the Carbon-part is just a fake.
So i think, the Carbon is not really stiffer than the "normal" X-Bone.
In fact it is a really soft binding.

And it is quite broad at the heelside, so it is hard to choose flat angles for EC.

But just try it!

Hi Joe
thank you for the information....I've realized that the only difference between the "carbon" and the normal x-bone must be the central "X", and in fact I understand that it's useless for the binding's stifness.
Wich part was broken of your bindings ?
thank you

bye

Hi lorenzo,

i´m just back from boarding and must correct my number of broken X-Bones.
Now i broke two of them.

And it was always the part, where the Intec-part(heelside) is fixed.
This time it happened during "normal" high speed carving.
Last time it broke when i was trying to get back on my feet after loosing grip on the frontside.

In my opinion this binding is just a s..t!!

Now i use the f2-titanflex, which looks more stable.

Wow...thank you very much for your advice !
It seems an horror story ! I've always had fear to broke one binding while I'm riding, but I think that I will not try the Raichke binding anymore after listened your story....now the bindings are in the original box !
