F2 disk

Post by fivat » Friday 18 November 2005, 20:54

Rietzschel wrote:Last year I've bought the F2 Titanium bindings too. Along came a disk and a few rubbers which I've placed with the theorie in mind not to disturb the arc of the board during the turn.

How is your disk? I have got nothing special with the bindings.
There is only a rubber ring and two other rubber pieces. Here is a picture shot by Arnaud (for a post in the French Forum):

Rubber is important for dampening. The ring is not bad, but there is no comparison with bindings that have a real central disk. However, the disk should be not too thick. As said in the review, the bindings that are too high are not recommended for extremecarving. There is an optimal geometry ;-)

Yep... great bindings...

Post by RicHard » Sunday 18 December 2005, 15:13

Eheheheheh! Yes... great bindings, the race titanium... but...
look below what happened few days ago while I was carving a nice slope!!!

The heel bail... SBONK!!!! Broken!!! I was thinking it could never happen to me!

And... I suggest you to unscrew the toe and heel screw to check the metal components that they screw on: they tend to break after 30/40 days of riding.
You can change them but... the problem is that... you cannot see if they are damaged without unscrew the screws from them!
Good luck!

Is it my imagination or are the diameter of those bails a LOT smaller than the ones on Cateks or Bombers (6.35mm)? It looks like 1 to 2mm smaller from the photos.

On my F2 Carve RS, bailed are supposed to be 5.5mm. I must admit that they are really thin compared to my Phiokka PH1 which are supposed to have 5mm bails (unless The Blitz forgot to tell me there were 6mm bails when he sold them to me).
I think that on my PH1, I have 6 mm bails and 4.5 mm on my Carve RS.

The model probably is 2002 or so.

Welcome to the world of the race titanium t-nut breakers!!!
I changed them every year.
Few posts above, you can see two red rubber pads, under the toe and heels. If you pull out them, you will see the the t(like)-nuts. If you unscrew the screws that tight them to the bindings, you will surely notice that they are broken.
Feel free to ask to F2, they should send you the replacement.
DON'T SURF IN THE CONDITIONS WE CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE!
Good luck.
