This guy used a F2, but is it possible with a swoard?

but with wider board, its not going to be able to sink it in the turns,.. who wants to try?.. Did the guy put a fin? how does he control slide if he has none..? saw the subject on bomber long time ago but cannot remember!

I don't know about the fin, but here is an other picture: (seems normal at first sight, there is no fin in the shadow of the board)

Hmm, interesting and funny !

I will try next summer with my old Oxygen KR.
The problem is shoes and binding, but maybe I can use an old pair of Raichle.

I think the guy try this on a lake.
I do waterski on the sea with salt water. I'm afraid that edge and binding don't like this !

Long time ago, when wakeboarding was not yet born but when the famous "skurf" was introduced, some guys were already trying snowboards on water here on the Geneva Lake. Nidecker was even producing a board for that, made like a swnowboard (with same materials)

If I remember well, its name was "waterboard"!

The guy at the pictures is Doug Dryer. A famous (F2) carver from the States. He almost invented carving and he did or has a snowboardschool.
I have some nice carvepictures from him in old magazines from the early times.

Hans, in few years ago, I think it's Laird Hamilton (Oxbow people, THE great big wareriding in Jaws) the first who ride snowboard with the a foil (airshare). I've got some old video (like Nils

) with him, and at this time he've got some Burton Freecarve boats (now, in this last DVD video, he ride Jaws with his foilboard in soft boots...

Light wind kiteboards are the same shape as a snowboard. Nearly.
You only need fins when you don`t use your rail properly. With a little bit of practise no fin is much better, faster.

A few people have used snowboards for kitesurfing too. The only problem is that they don`t float very well! Apart from that they work really well.

Check this kiteboard made by Flysurfer. Could probably use it on the snow!

Outline looks like a snowboard one, but kiteboards have a scoop line which is completly different from a snowboard one... I don't think it could work on the snow. And as a kiteboard is much stiffer than a snowboard, you won't a sufficient rail length...
