Dutch carvers

Post by MennoB » Wednesday 13 November 2002, 10:31

Hi there,

I am a long-time carver from the Netherlands.
And I would like to meet with other like-minded persons in the snow.
Unfortunately, I don't know any other carvers; I meet them on the slopes (sometimes), but I would like to organize this in some way.

There's a number of initiatives around, where meetings a-la "Expression session" are organized in Europe.
I think another good idea would be to try to get together the carvers that come from one country or region.

I know there's a number of members that come from, or live in the Netherlands. Who would be interested to set up a meeting?

Hi,

Denis and I were already boarding together, so i guess you now have another carver. My location is also The Hague. And since we all live in the same town...let's meet up on Snowworld or meet up in Bottrop where you can find me most of the weekends...

Arjan

P.s. don't forget about my girlfriend...she carves too :)

Hej Arjan,

you said you often go to Bottrop, is it really worth the trip? All I heard
is that the slope is quite narrow. I haven't been there because Neuss is
closer (from Aachen). I use to be there once in a couple of weeks and to me it's good fun, allthough the slope is quite short. Anyway a good number
of carving turns are possible especially if you go early in the morning.

Regards,
Markus

Hi Melvin,

Last Saturday i went to Bottrop again. I arrived at 8.30 AM and nobody had hit the slope yet. I was the first one!

I love Bottrop, because the slope is wide (around 35-40 metres) and long (650 metres). Furthermore, for 25 euros you can board all day (9-0.00). The snow conditions is very good (hardley no ice) and especially during the week, it's soooooo quiet!

For me it's definitely worth the trip (2,5 hours by car). I have an indoor slope near my house (5 minutes) but i prefer Bottrop!

Greetz,

Arjan

Goeie morgen to all the Dutch carvers,

Count me in, I’m originally from Utrecht, studying in Eindhoven, doing a practical semester at Siemens in Krefeld (Germany).
I’m not a EC carver (yet), but started skwalling three years ago, in my search to find something more esthetic than funcarving skies.

See you around,
Cheers,
Sam :D
