The great age carving topic

Post by hansvanraaij » Saturday 2 April 2022, 8:59

Hello there,

I am curious what age you are out there on your Swoard extremecarver.
I am 63, pretty good shape (180/79 kg) but it is not that easy anymore snowboarding.
What is your experience according to your age?
So come on my carving friends, lets share age/snowboarding

Best Regards

Hans

I stopped aging at 25 years thanks to snowboarding (started at 19 actually).
In my head I feel like 25 years old, and on my board too. 8)

The other day a group of skiers said to my friend Xavier and to me: "Hey, young guys, it's awesome and beautiful what you do!". We replied that we were not that young and gave our ages! They could not believe it.

I remember this old poll: QUEL ÂGE (ANNÉES)? HOW OLD (YEARS)? WIE ALT (JAHRE)? Here is the result:

Here is a better poll with more age ranges: HOW OLD ARE YOU?

But well, these polls are from 2004 and 2006. So one has to add 15 years to the results. :D The question is: how many young riders should we add? Personally I know at least 4 extremecarvers below 20.

Regarding male and female, see this poll: WHAT IS YOUR SEX?

We defintely need more female riders. :D

At the end of 50 I feel that carving is more tiring than years before,
I vote for a Senior Swoard with a larger radius like 16 or 17 meters.
So I wouldn´t have to go up and down so often.

And when I´m 70 I need 20 meters. 8O Only one frontside or backside turn for the whole slope. :silly: :lol2:

Actually for me it would be the opposite.
Lying down as often as possible to rest suits me well :evil2:

Hi!
I'm only 66 years old and near 25 of snowboarding, but my project is to do Ec at 80 years old, along the legendary (and not present today) Super8 in Pila, my preferred resort.
Stay tuned! :D :D :D :D
