Little help understanding spring and Td3

Post by Guions » Friday 25 March 2022, 16:54

Hi, first of all thank you very much for your advices everyone.

I’m looking to buy a spring system but I don’t know wich one. I know Drupi selling one and bomber online. Is there some difference between does?

I have deeluxe track 425 pro

I’m trying to understand What is DGSS, BTSS, RAB?

Also should I consider buying a TD3 system also? I see some riders use this.

I was all ready looking to buy a bomber power plates system for my soft boots boards. Could I be able to use it with my hard boots board without the plates? And what disk and cant degree should I consider.

It’s hard to find all this info by myself. The more I look/search the more questions I’m having

Thank you very much for any help that gonna save me hours of web searching.

Hi
Everything depends on what are you looking for.
Extreme Carving?
Free Carving?
Race?

I'm not with td3, too stiff .
Swoard Red or F2 Race Titanium.

Spring sistem, dgss are very versatile, RAB maybe more race oriented but no longer in production so not easy to find.

Hi Guions,

for extremecarving and freecarving, a spring system is something you definitely need.
It allows you am much greater range of movement, specially to bend your knees and do the "pull" part of ""push-pull".
I use the ACSS spring system made by Abrax from Poland. I don't know, however, if he still produces them.
Alternatively, you might try Drupi's system. Just look for "drupi" here in the forum.

Thank you for your advices,

I just contacted Drupi for is system.

Just to be clear about the terminology.

Race: going down the hill as fast as possible?

Free carve: having fun carving but not with to much angle?

EC: carving with maximum angle, trying to lie down on the snow.

DGSS: Drupi spring system?
BTS: bomber spring system ?
ACSS: Abrax spring system?

Also I tought that TD3 was just the E-ring and the cant disk that you put under any binding. But it only work with the binding that come with the device and the extremcarver find them to stiff even if there is soft E-ring?

I have read that the f2 race titanium are good affordable binding for EC. But what about the F2 carve RS and the f2 titanflex? Are them any good for EC. My boots are deeluxe 425 track pro. I don’t know wich binding would be a good match with my boots for learning EC?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

About extreme carving

https://www.extremecarving.com/tech/tech.html

Race and freecarving are almost the same, have a look on YouTube

https://youtube.com/user/mcirigliano52

DGSS Drupi's

RAB Raichle Acceleration Box no longer in production, spring only for frontside or toeside. My personal best.

Carve RS are nice but the base is in plastic so quite soft, depends on your weight.
Step-in binding as titan flex and are not raccomend for EC because you need lateral flex.
In my experience, I'm not on EC, the titanflex puts a lot of stress on inserts.

EC: carving with maximum angle, trying to lie down on the snow.
It is by far not only a question of body inclination, but a complete philosophy (ride technique, board, setup, etc.) which we presented 20 years ago exactly when we created the word "extremecarving" (EC) for the Website with the same name.
Just "falling" on the snow, "body sliding" or riding with a "skwal style" (or "ski style", the chest of the body permanently facing the tip of the board) are not extremecarving.

Check the FAQ for the official definition of the word. There you can find answers to some other of your questions: see the TUNING section.

As pointed by Jax, check the Web pages of www.extremecarving.com.
The Carver's Almanac gives also a good summary.

I had the same questions years ago and I never stopped searching until I got to my hands or better to my feet , a swoard board and the Upz EC 12 boots . No more searching about modifications and equipment settings. My only concern from now on is just to improve my technique . I was always faulty most of the time blaming my equipment for not doing technique right. But since you know you have the right gear for a specific thing you want to do then the only think to blame is yourself and you can focus only on the technique and not spending hours and hours searching for the right gear and how to make it work properly.
