Closed ski resorts due to the coronavirus

Post by fivat » Wednesday 5 February 2020, 0:28

Our friend Daniel in China is telling us that all the ski resorts have been closed there! 8O

This is terrible! :wall: Worse than a winter without snow, because you can't enjoy the white slopes...

All competitions have been cancelled of course.

Hopefully this doesn't last...

Thank you Patrice.
Yes, all ski resorts are temporarily closed due to the coronavirus. Everyone in China are fighting with the coronavirus who should stay in home(2 weeks) in order to avoid infection. This time the coronavirus are terrible, it's easy to infect. So the Chinese are unitive and behave well, and we will win in the end. Maybe we will miss this season, but we will be back soon~

We wish you all the best and that you and your families remain safe from this latest contagion.
I also do hope the ski resorts can handle this financially...

If the border is not closed and the resort open, we will be present.
With empty slopes for us! :D

Hello everybody,

At the moment, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is not affecting Aosta area, along to local info.
We will be present in Pila as planned, except if there will be strong restrictions.

Of course we will keep you informed.

Good sportsmen should not be afraid! :D Good health, no problem. And we could enjoy empty slopes! ;-)

Hello everybody,

See these news from the Italian government:
http://www.governo.it/sites/new.governo ... ZO2020.pdf (in Italian)

The schools and universities are closed. The events are not allowed.

 Thus officially the "SDT Pila" is cancelled. There won't be any stand.

Some of us will come for riding privately.
We can meet on the slopes and enjoy great conditions (it's snowing a lot right now).

Regarding the dinner on Saturday evening, it can be made privately.

See you hopefully for great turns! 8)

See the main thread here.

The situation has evolved badly.

 From Monday 9th March, all the resorts in Valle d'Aosta will be closed!
So it won't be possible to meet, publicly or privately. Everything is cancelled.

We are so sorry for our Italian friends. We were looking so much to seeing you all, like every year.
And this is economically a disaster for all the the valley, the resorts, the hotels, etc.

 Coraggio!

"Several ski festivals, including Snowbombing, the largest in the Alps, Tomorrowland, which is held in the French resort of Alpe d’Huez, Rock The Piste festival, which spans the French-Swiss border and attracts 28,000 people to over 50 concerts on the slopes and Snowboxx, a week-long festival held in the French resort of Avoriaz, have been forced to cancel or amend their schedules at late notice."

From Monday March 16, all the ski resorts will be closed in Tirol, Austria!
Norway is closing too.

Probably France will follow soon. And Switzerland... The situation is changing every day.

The Alps are progressively closing. This is dramatic. 8O  :wall:
