Off-season training

Post by bluedevil_zg » Monday 25 March 2019, 16:05

Well..
season is (almost) over now. Weather is getting warmer by minute, and even though there is still snow on certain locations, it will soon give way to summer heat for most of recreational carvers. So, what do you guys do during this warm period? How do you work out, how do you prepare for next season? There's gym, there's biking, walking, hiking, a lot of warm-weather sports, so what do you do? Which exercises, how often, how much repetitions, do you do it just in August/September/October? Or the whole summer long?

I'll start - I intend to do regular 2x per week of gym, where I'll concentrate on whole body workout to warm-up (and keep core in order) and then do more intensive leg work, concentrating on upper legs. Nothing too intensive, just an hour of workout, like 20-30 min of full body workout as warm-up (no direct legs here) and then 30-40 min of legs, which can be anything - even just 30-40 min of intensive bike riding every now and then.
Also, I intend to add, come September, weekly walks up to a local mountain - a 15 km walk uphil for approximately 1 km of elevation, a bit over an hour to climb - this to help legs but for cardio also.

What are your routines?

Kettlebell workouts throughout the whole year, SUP throughout the whole year.

Kettlebell or Kegel? I am confused.

I think Kegel is more appropriate for my style, especially backside.

Just sayin'

It works in any language, it's universal. You and I may not have a language in common, but we'd understand Kegel's
