Looking for Springkit to modify Northwave .350

Post by hagen111 » Monday 28 January 2019, 0:51

Hi,

I have found a pair of Northwave .350 and now I want to add a spring system to them. Anyone making them or know where I can order them?

Also I am looking for advise on which liners to use? The stock ones are a bit worn out and I really like to recondition these boots and try them out.

Any help welcome!

For the spring system the Arnaud's One are perfect for the .350

For the liner the maybe the Palau power fit, because the .350 are a bit soft.

Thanks Jax, have contacted Arnaud.

Also on the liners, will order a pair of the Palau's and try them. Now the problem is, how do you figure out which size to get as a new liner?

I am shoesize 45, but current liner in the Northwave is a 28.0, and it fits me perfect, because it is pretty worn out! I am not sure which size to get.

28 = 43 (but afraid a new liner will be to small, as the old was worn out)
29,5 = 45 (but not sure if this will fit the Northwave shell?)

In between are 28.5 and 29...decisions :wall:

Anyone experience?

Go to a decathlon store and measure your foot with their tool and use the Mondo Point size.

Which is your shell size(written on the sole)?

Also D?

What I found is that D goes up to 28.5 and E starts with 29.0

Can you confirm you have an D shell and 29.0 Mondo liner? That would be great news!

Ok choices....

I have ordered Palau Power Fit Overlap HARD in 29.0 ...or should I have gotten the SOFT versions?
The .350 Northwave looks to have a soft shell material, so I went for the HARD version.

Also Arnaud is sending me the lower bracket to work with the (Head starts) spring system I already have.

Will have 2 boots with spring systems soon: .350 Northwave & Head Stratos Pro.

Order for a Swoard 175H also on its way.

Interesting to see what the season will bring :-)

Palau overlap hard is the right choice, because they are really hard.
Only one thing, I can't stay all the day with the buckles tighten, I have to open them on the lift

Palau liners came in and fit me perfectly in size 29.0. Tried them in the HeadStratos Pro 28.5 shell and fits perfect.

However noticed they come without a (good) footbed...they are just empty, so will get a Silas footbed molded towards my feet to insert in the Palau liner.

Will also order a second pair of the softer versions of the Palau liners in 29.0 so I can experiment a bit between Northwave and Head and the stiffer liners and develop a preference.

Also order/payment for EC Pro went out today....so almost there to start running and testing my setup in 2 weeks time.

And Arnaud sent me the additional bits to mount the springkit on the Northwave shells.
