Welcome! What's new?

Post by Swoard team » Thursday 23 August 2018, 11:20

Welcome! What's new? :D

This international and multilingual Forum, created on 21st March 2002, has evolved a lot during the years... It is now super easy to use and it works on any mobile device, with bridges to other social networks. :!:

 Directly compatible with any mobile device: you can use the Forum simply at the address https://extremecarving.com/forum in your usual browser.

 Compatible with the App Tapatalk for mobile devices if you prefer. See the download link in this thread. But now we recommend using the Forum directly in your browser because you can follow the threads easily too, and you get better viewing of all medias in other social networks. Small bugs with smilies and emoticons can still occur with Tapatalk.

 Much better menus and features to follow the Forum: explore and play!

 Posting pictures is really easy: simply drag and drop your images in the box where you type your message. Then you will see in the tab below the box that the image has been attached. Read more details below.

 All medias from social networks, YouTube, Vimeo, TV channels, Facebook, Instagram, etc. can be viewed directly. Simply copy and paste the URL address pointing directly to the image or video.
> example with YouTube
> example with Facebook
> example with Instagram

 Super fast server.

 Secured https Website. Your password and e-mail address are protected. As the Forum is basically anonymous, your name and other personal data are never asked. Your e-mail address is not visible and won't be used in any mailing list. You can suppress the cookies (which are there to make your navigation in the Forum easier) at any time (bottom right).

 Great search tool (top right) as you do with Google, but with more options. Explore this Forum which is a big data base.

 And many other features which you will discover!

Have nice threads!

 FAQ about the subjects discussed in the Forum
It is not updated every month, so please use the search tool in priority.

- etc.

Data protection:

As the Forum is basically anonymous, your name and other personal data are never asked. Your e-mail address is not visible by other members and won't be used in any mailing list. It is just used to confirm your registration and to inform you about new threads or new private messages if you validated the options. No data is collected for ads. Forum behaviour and RULES

Post by Swoard team » Thursday 23 August 2018, 11:51

Forum behavior and RULES

 We are asking people to behave in the Forum (as they do 99.9% of time) to keep it interesting for everyone.

 Please avoid provocative posts, insults etc... and off topic posts... No nationalism here, no politics, no fake news... Only reliable info, constructive discussions, debates with facts, photos/videos sharing and above all: passion!

 Respect and courtesy are asked towards all the volunteers running this Forum, as well as towards the two pioneers (Patrice and Jacques) and the brand (Swoard) who have developed/popularized extremecarving. There are enough other social networks for the brands or groups who are trying to copy the original EC concepts. See the strict definition of "extremecarving" here.

 Direct or indirect advertisement posted by vendors (their teams or obvious affiliates) is not allowed.
Indeed this place is also a "support for Swoard snowboards and Swoard-EC technique." Swoard is not like other brands: we have other full time jobs. All profits are used to promote carving worldwide (with softboots and hardboots), to develop new gear according to our vision of the sport and to organize & sponsor many free events.

 The replies to posts giving simple redirections to other Forum are not allowed: if a thread starts there, it must continue there. This is an obvious rule applied worldwide.

This forum is now a great source of knowledge for everyone, as well as a community place for European and worldwide carvers to meet and share: be part of the building with your contribution, good vibes and humor!

Post by Swoard team » Thursday 23 August 2018, 11:54

 22 available languages: choose yours in the User Control Panel. A few languages are missing for now because translations are in progress. They will be added during the next months.

 Everyone can have his own avatar (= small image representing you). To upload your avatar, go in your profile or click here. Images types: GIF or JPG, dimensions max: 120x120 pixels, file size max: 50 Kb.

 Every member has a rank depending on his contributions to the Forum:

Image Rank 0: new member
Image Rank 1: from 5 messages
Image Rank 2: from 10 messages
Image Rank 3: from 20 messages
Image Rank 4: from 50 messages
Image Rank 5: from 100 messages

Attaching images and documents

Post by Swoard team » Thursday 23 August 2018, 12:36

Parameters:
 Maximum upload size per file: 500 Kb :!: Thus reduce your file size before attaching
 Allowed number of files per message: 5
 Maximum image dimensions: 2400x2400 pixels
 Allowed image types: jpg, jpeg, gif and png
 Allowed document types: pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx and txt
 Allowed archives types: zip and rar

Posting pictures and documents is really easy. The simplest way is to drag and drop your file in the box where you type your message. Then you will see in the tab below the box that the file has been attached.
Of course you can proceed in the same way you attach files to e-mails! Use the tab below the text box.

By default attached files will appear at the end of the message. Advanced users can place any file inline (= inside the message) once it has been uploaded. There is a button which will create a BBcode like this:

Code: Select all

[attachment=0]your-file.jpg[/attachment]
Advanced members who are using the tag [img] are asked to use only https adresses, otherwise their images will be moderated and not visible.
