Hello Max
Any board that can carve with a 9-14m radius can do extremecarving..softboots newschool shapes ( korua, amplid, jones...), racing boards ( kessler, oxxess..)

The main difference with the carving boards that are good or designed for extremecarving is that:

- they make it much easier, especially for the backside which is where the other boards are impossible to do laid turns, or make is so difficult it's only for the EC experts ( we have yet to see laid link turns with backsides on korua for example )
- they are very forgiving, easy to ride and the nose and tail grip is able to grip and release when the rider needs it in order not to keep locked in the turn, or loose grip in other turns
- they absorb most of the terrain difficulties in any snow conditions and rip through ice: this is a matter of flex , shape design and construction.
- bigger width allow for lower binding angles that allow for better position for EC, as well as more power under the feet.

This is basically what the Extremecarver design is doing for the last 16 years, with a 20+ years design history in the concept. No other board was design with EC in mind as much as this one, it allowed to create the sport by itself, few boards or gear created that ( only the the skwal, the monoski, and the winterstick did that on their level). This explains why many brands are copying the design, some only understanding small parts of what is required to build a good EC board.

Conclusion: you can do EC on any board providing you have the level and technique, but at any level, the Swoard Extremecarver will make it easier to learn and masterize, as well as perform on any snow! Even the Dual that was design for multipurpose, can do EC better than most carving boards because it has the same design ideas as the Extremecarver, with more versatility, and for the softbooters too.

Thank you for your answer!
I've just have tested 175cm 4th-Gen Swoard which I borrowed for two days from my friend.
It's pretty good on fresh groomed snow and it's inferior to modern race boards on the uneven slope.
Metal boards give me more absorbing and damping in any snow conditions, they rip through ice much better!
I noticed that it is not so easy to do edge-to-edge transitions with such a wide 23cm waist.
I can easily tilt my (20cm in waist) race board to extreme angle and I personally don't feel a lack of power under my feet.
I suspect that an ordinary wooden board requires more control, so it has such a wide waist. Am I right?

I dont want to spend decades learning extreme carving, so I'd prefer to choose hi-tec board with all modern features (metal, rockers etc.)
Judging by your posts, you are a very experienced rider. Can you help me?

This is precisely the Extremecarver Pro2, with unique metal technology by Swoard, dynamic rocker (small decamber of the nose), super damping, awesome grip, great finishing, ...
In Russia (where you are located) you can meet some riders who already have this new model and say it's the best EC board ever. :bravo:

You refer to a model (the Gen4) which is based on carbon technology and is 7 years old. 8O Though this model was awesome 7 years ago (and is still for many riders), we continuously made big improvements. There is now the Gen5. Note also that we still see many brands making alpine boards with camber and fiber glass to provide the public not too expensive boards.

With the real EC board, the proper setup and our technique, it's really fast and fun. We saw in our last event (15th ExtremeCarving Session) impressive progression of all the riders.

OES is in Spain, not in Russia. Maybe it should be corrected.
