F2 TRace gap?

Post by puhutes » Saturday 14 March 2015, 11:29

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to know if other have noticed the new F2 Titanium Race binding (6mm thick heel assembly)
is very indirect and has a 4mm gap between the binding and the boot (when partially tightened) and then
the binding becomes curved and warped when completely closed. We've noticed this with the Northwave
and Burton boots and approx. 2-3mm gap with the UPZ boot. We haven't checked with any other brands.
Does the new F2TR heel assembly fit better with other boots? Let me know... thanks!
Greetings Jennifer

Hi Hotfrontside!

Thanks for your replies. Our solution to the gap was to produce our own replacement heel assembly (6mm)
We're are taking pre-orders and have already received pretty enthusiastic replies from the WC/EC alpine athletes.
We've already reserved 30 pairs but we're looking to see if other riders are also interested in the replacement F2 Trace
heel assembly. You can see the 3D (blue) printed version of our new heel assembly on the left Northwave boot. We've
also checked with other athletes and it looks like our solution works with UPZ and Burton hardboots as well. If
you or anyone else are interested, please send me a mail to be sure you receive a pair. One pair costs 40Euros.

Greetings Jennifer

A few of the World Cup riders have also commented that the back bail is more direct and precise steering.
