Burton deck and bindings

Post by hachis » Monday 5 January 2015, 10:09

Hi there,

First, i'd like to wish you a happy new year full of snow (mostly on the slopes not on the roads!)

I try the International section in hope of finding an answer.

So, here is my question:

I've got BURTON ALP deck ...

I've got F2 INTEC bindings ...

I CANNOT FIX THOSE BINDINGS ON THIS DECK!!!

I previously had a P.J. (Burton) and everything was OK as I customised my "variplates" ...

Everything started to go wrong when I tried to set up my ALP!

THE SCREWS WERE OK I JUST NEEDED TO "INSIST" A BIT.

PLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIZ HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!

TX.

Edit: I modified what's written in fat (about the screws).

Burton doesn't follow the international standards... You need a board with 4x4 inserts for your F2 bindings.

I'm afraid there is no solution in your case. :-( Maybe someone in this Forum has a good idea or proposal?

I hope so!...

I've found this (on ebay dot com)

Do you think it will work?

What you really would need is one of this kind center discs. Unfortunately it is extremely hard to find them any more.
But i know some people have drilled and filed normal center disks to fit Burton 3D standard inserts.
Another option is getting one of lower pic, but i have no experience about that.

This exactly what I'm looking for!!!

Concerning the pic you posted below, I read lots of things about and I noticed that some cracks (about 1 inch long as said) apeared on few of these "elevators".

I'm not confident with this, due to the fact they are made of "plastic" and the way we (I mean "I") use our boards.

I have found these plates:

But I do not know if these discs are ok with FTWO bindings.

From FB Forum (link here):
RE: Proflex Titanium auf Burton

So sieht die Platte mit der zurechtgeschnitzten Unterlegscheibe aus:

Und wie gesagt, an der Abdeckplatte solltest Du auf einer Seite die Kunststoffnase zum Einrasten zurechtschneiden:

Viel Spaß

 I tried this ...

BUT ...

First, the width between the screw holes (I mean the parallel grooves) is not sufficient to meet the inserts position.

Secondly, the rare positions where I can fix 3 screws are not much "balanced" (in terms of forces applied) and I cannot get the stance "needed" for my size ...

this allows only a short 47cm. 50 needed ...

I'm boring?

Ain't it?

Thanks a lot.

I contacted this firm ... they are VERY expensive concerning the S&H charges!

I had to deal another way ...

but may be this will help someone else.

The point is that 4x4 sistem uses a square with 4 cm each side the Burton 3D a trinagle with 42mm each side.
The link you have placed missed an ) but they are not working on your plates.

It's easy to adjust standard F2 plates to 3x3.
Burton systems are stupid anyways...

Will show pictures later this week.

Not sure if the disk will fit the F2 binding but I do have some old burton 3 hole disks that I could ship you.

That is less than 1mm of tooling ;)...

This allows already more stance, than the original Borton plates (if you turn the plate into the right direction).
If all that is not yous: There are still 3*3 bindings available
