Help to buy a free carve board

Post by Phil » Saturday 5 April 2014, 22:49

Hi ,

Since my thread (looking for a free carve board in the Classified) I had a number of interesting proposals.
I don’t need advice regarding the price of these offers but really your opinion about which board I should put my money in.
I am a 1.76 m/ 90kgs+ rider aged 56.
I mainly ride in Quebec on narrow, crowded and icy slopes... but I also plan to ride in the Alps more often.

Back in the time I had a 167 Burton FP which I loved. Now that I am a little bit older :) and even if I am more on the aggressive side of the border, I would like something a little bit less demanding.

So between these boards to your opinion which one is the best for me:
Burton Alp 162
F2 Silberpfeil 163
F2 Silberpfeil 172
Oxess RG 170
Prior WCRM 169

Thank you for your help

Phil

Hi Phil,

it´s an easy choice.

Being in your shoes, I would choose two boards. 8O
A Swoard for the Alps and a slalom board for your home :!: :!:

Depending on your demands: a longer Silberpfeil could be a possibility - but for icy slopes?
I use my Donek FC in softer snow. It´s great there - but would never choose it for icy conditions.
I don´t have knowledge about the other to you offered boards.
Did you still think about a stiffer F2 Speedster, or a Pogo Overdose?
For quick edge to edge changing, a really narrow board could be a possibility too.

Hahahah yes it is a god choice to have 2 boards but it is quite expensive!!
I must say that i will probably try a Swoard as soon as i 'll be in top shape or at least confident to use it properly...remember my last carving session
was a long time ago!!
I don't know about the Pogo but I read that the F2 Speedster was an entry level board compare to a lot of good things i hear for the Silberpfeil...
My quest continues :)

Hi, I 've bought my board!!

thank you very much to all of you for your advices and proposals. I did buy a F2 Silberpfeil 168 at a great price. I will be glad to discuss about it next winter.
Take care.

Phil
