repair base

Post by Hans » Friday 10 December 2004, 18:28

Hi, SITO

Last season I had also some (big) scratches near the sidewall.
I have repaired it with repair powder from Toko (article nr. 5510951).
You put some powder on the damaged place, put the plastic over it which comes with the powderset. Iron it in till it becomes fluid (you iron it on the plastic so not direct on the powder!!). Then it has to cool down with the plastic on it. Take a file and than a scraper (alu or iron scraper). Carefully file and scrape the material of the base and then sand it carefully with a fine sandpaper. Ready to brush, wax and go. Or you can also use specially made graphite candles for the job. Hope this helps.

Greets, Hans.
http://www.toko.ch, then choose for products, Tools alpine and snowboard, base repair. Or under how to use you can find an instruction.
