I am thinking of trying with hardboots boarding (after almost 10 years of softboots snowboarding)
i am 1.90 and 84k.
Do i have to buy a board over 1.70
perhaps with a board 1.67 oder 1.68 is it possible for the start?
thanks....

Hi turms,
Welcome to the forums!
So you are slim and very tall.
In your situation I would not buy anything shorter than 170cm. The truth is that you probably need about one week to fully accommodate with longer hard board. But it's not a black magic!
Swoard 175M will be perfect for you

It's better to go with a longer board because there is usually more time for the turn (more time to lay down = more fun)

It's not said that it is wrong to chose 168. But the 175 will give you more fun, better edge grip and this is a board which will last a bit longer ( because you won't have to change the shorter board to the board of a right length. )
Yes, alpine boards are usually a bit longer than soft

i have found a set 1,67 (or 1.68) with bindings and boots (little used of course) and i am thinking of buying these for the beginning instead of renting equipment for e.g. a week....its almost the same money....
and when i see that i stuck with carving, then spending for better equipment.
