The guy has the same position and style as Peter Bauer in the nineties (well, this must be a picture of the nineties): front side turn made in counter rotation, left arm in the air, armpit not touching the snow... and probably the next turn (on backside) not linked like this.
In the nineties such turns were called "eurocarving" (by the Americans themselves), or simply "carving". When performed on frontside (usually one isolated turn made in front of the photograph), the turn was named a "Vitelli turn". As the champion Jean Nerva told us (to Nils, Swoard co-founder), such turns were rare and difficult to perform on backside. The boards had not the same performances as now...
So please, us the word "EC" (extremecarving) not for this old style but for its original sense defined by Jacques and me when, in 2002, we had to find a term describing the style we had developed together: all turns linked, fully laid (armpit to armpit), made in rotation (like the surf technique), with a "push-pull" technique (term invented by Jacques), focusing on the gesture purity (fluidity and no arms in the air)...
Our term, which was criticized when we invented it, has now become very popular and is used in many situations by people, even for "normal" carving. Their author would appreciate that the original meaning (and source) stays clear for everyone.
What does the article say about "technical analysis"? We are curious.

Well, here is the full article, it was a short analysis of DAX futures and 2 local papers (OTP Bank and Richter, a pharmaceutical company) vis-á-vis the result of the Greek elections. Not as exciting as snowboarding, though.
