Arnaud tried them on the higher position but it was uncomfortable for him. You should try. Personnaly I didn't.
If you're not in a hurry, he can send you a spring system for your Blax Strats. He is working on a very cool price for it.

Thx for the info!

I will probably begin testing myself asm my father was in the alpine skiing and snowboarding boot bussiness and is nagging on me to build our own system. :P

By now we took appart a set of Alpina boots and got some parts now all I need is more springs and the system will be functional.

He also suggested to better secure the sistem to the boot.

Modifying .900

I did not change the springs of my Nortwaves. Yes, they are quite stiff, at the upper limit of stiffness for my some 68 Kgs. But I feel, as they are the same on all sizes, they should be ridiculously soft for a guy in the upper 80s, 90s, ... I like them as they are, because I feel I need a lot of support of my ancles. I feel insecure, when they can be bent too much.

On very could days like at the ECS I feel, that my boots are too stiff, because the shell / tongue becomes stiffer. They still work, when I'm on 100%, but I'm not as smooth as I should be in the flats. So I started thinking about softer Springs. Not for EC, but for very could days and maybe some kind of recreational mode ;).

At this time I'm looking for a second pair of NWs, mainly as a spare parts reservoir. As soon, as I find them, I will try to cut the tongue of my .900s. Maybe this, combined with a slightly softer Spring will lead to a perfect setup in every condition...
Emailed with Rob these last days. According to Rob, seems that the Raichle SBtongues perfectly fit the Northwave .900 . At least these tongues are and stay soft in the cold. I ordered them from bomber yesterday. As soon as I get them, I will try them and look if they fit my mondo 26.5

Greets, Hans.

Righ now I found pics of modified Head stratus in french forum, and I a very much surprised.
I have a boot which I modified 5 months, and look prety much the same as Head's but the brand is DSM or something similar. (I don't know exactly the brand)
They probably bought the shell from Head.
I'm very much satisfied how the springs are working, but it looks like the shell is really soft on mine's. (when I tried to bend it by hand)

Do you guys know how stiff is Head's shell?

I wanted to take all detailed pictures when I made the mod. but I was making it until 02.00A.M and had to get up in 05.00A.M to go boarding.
Was very satisfied the next day when I tried them.

Have a look

Unfortunately I believe it is dead. I talked to different people at Northwave factorty in Italy but they were politely deaf to my humble request.

Thus I am waiting to receive the modification kit for my Blax from Arnaud (for the moment I am carving with the back boot in walk position and the front one locked and it works pretty well...I wonder how it is going to be with the modification!)
