schneewurm: not sure about the humor u were using...but i smiled despite the fact that i don't agree with you 100%.
For my part, i think intec is good for the lazy ones, but not so good for my wide board since it locks the foot lateraly and i like looseness...( i dont want to rely on the urethane below the binding to manage that looseness)..

I think the improvements are pretty nice on the TD3, Fin took in consideration most of what people said, and the fintec is also a great piece of work...Since i'm not using it i won't know if it freezes and need de-icing in very cold conditions..

My only interrogation is still the bails strength compare to those of the TD2, and if i can use my TD2 custom bails or not?
Any one has a clue?

Since the width of the TD3soleblocks is the same as the TD2 soleblock I think you just can screw those homemade bails into the new lugs of the TD3 soleblocks/lugs.

Actually the bail might have to be shortened, depending on micro-adjustment made on lugs and the position of sole blocks on base plate. TD3 sole blocks will be 4~5mm lower than that of TD2.

I believe since TD3 sole blocks have been lowered, bails should be shortened to accomodate the change, or sole blocks will have to move to the centre of the base plate to accomodate lengthy bails....

Otherwise it does not look like much has changed, but we will have to see at the end of November..

unfortunately my bails are sooooo hard steel ( tempered) that it will be almost impossible to shorten :( Heat will de tempered the steel....grrrr

The position of the lugs has also been lowered, so I think Nils has some luck here.

I think you are right. Just checked my TD2 sole block and checked pic of TD3 and yes, they not only lowered sole blocks but also lugs.

Let's hope they'll have kept same bail width with TD3... I might be able to use my Ti bail then (or possible fit TD3 toe bail with clip in my TD2... hehe)!

As my job is coordinated with steel workers.
My experience says that as hard is the steel the easier will break/snap.

You 'll definitely need iron that can handle vibrations although it can be firm.

FYI: There are Special rods/metals for Caterpillar tracks that they're so hard but also so elastic that they can handle any vibration in the hardest of ground.
The best of them if you want to make custom made bails are ESAB Sweden metal rods and you want be disappointed.

Also I have to say sorry to Scneewarm that they are not Swiss and let him in to disappointment but I think ESAB Sweden Metals are much better than Oerlikon Swiss ones.

Choice is yours.

we will see, Bomber fit as the first ever, boots with an metal-heel, never seen any skiboots and so on with such funny things.
Look at the Dynafit binding-system for ski-hiking, they designed visible parts of metal on boots as small as possible - and they know why!

Meyer sold only safty bindings (verry rigid plate, I think the most rigid plate ever).
Bevor your legs or ankles will break (or splinter in hunderts of small bones = known insuries) binding will release (any direction possible) Your boots (with upper plate) from Your board. A special boardstopper will stop the board on the slope.
Binding was at high price, similar to bombers now.

Do You talk about Cutting Systems or Welding Systems?
Oerlikon and metals ?!? It seems it's to far away from the Peloponnes. (o.k. years ago they had in Oerlikon also a factory for Welding Systems)
For good steel products e.g. for binding-bails just tune to www.swiss-steel.ch like Mercedes and BMW do it also!

You have point here.
I think the main reason why Fin made these things, that this is a result of the lawsuit he has had last year (i thought it was then). There was a guy who had an injury by using some plastic intec heels. So with this in mind, I think the product could be something. I have ordered a pair so I will test them and put a review here. At the moment I am not very happy with my plastic intec heels, the snow is sticking to it.

Pokkis has the evidence why should we go West at the time.

Sorry F2 but there are some people dedicated to hardboots.
Someone of their management should realise that we're exist and think twice.

To clarift story behind picture, with good luck no real accident.
After investigating heel piece by plastic expert reason was found, small air bubbles weakened structure, unfortunately it could not be seen outside.
This is as unfortunate case as breaks on boot parts for old-fashioned bindings, both hapen and can hapen, luckily not so often.
Normal bail failure is much more common, that is why i'm on Intec heels :wink:
