Hmm, yes i know. Thanks.

(I though the Code function should result in a small table which one can scroll around like in other forums - should have put it into a PDF or HTML file straight away).

Found this too: http://www.skistats.com/slopes_detail.asp?lowest=30
Dooh - a t-bar going up 56° degrees at Mont St Anne in Quebec. They should put a slope besides it. :D
1,052 foot vertical for 1,262 foot total distance:

They have few deep ones in North too.
Sweden at Sälen they have Väggen (Wall) which is bout 40 degrees, not very long.
http://bilder.zix.se/sites/nackahi/main ... alNumber=2
Norway at Trysil they have Experten which is bout 45 degrees, atleast for 1/3 of length. Unfortunately that is quite narrow. Never has been in such condition that i have dared to ride that one.

Pyramid steepness

Post by fivat » Thursday 13 December 2007, 21:04

The pyramids are good reference for steepness! ;-) :D

How steep is this "slope":

Image
(image made by raphael in the thread there)

The Great Pyramid of Giza has a current height of 138.8 m and each side is about 230.4 m today. So, a simple calculation gives:
120% and 50.3 degrees! 8O :D

It would be nice to ride the Great Pyramid. But it's never snowing in Egypt... ;-)

Indeed, Harakiri it's a bit too narrow and could be dangerous on icy snow. At least 70% of skiers were slipping. I saw just a coulpe of boarders.

Cool picture! 8)

The steepness seems to be 35 degrees, what is 70%.
One sees trees on the pictures, what suggests that the slope is not at high altitude (for center Europe). This explains the frequent icy conditions.

Earlier I have asked Nils where that photo has been made. He told me that in Grimetz.
Therefore I do not know as to think now.

So all from what slope that photo with Patrice?

And if there 35* and why RaTrak works with a safety cable?
In Solden the same 35* but there RaTrak works without a safety cable.
